DC14 includes a Stair tool, Dusting brush and a Crevice tool. These are push-fit parts and will attach either to the end of the wand when additional reach is needed, or into the hose cuff for cleaning in confined spaces.

Hi there! Some vacuums do not come with the feature that automatically shuts the brushes off when in the upright position.. If your unit is like this, be sure to put the vacuum on the highest setting when using the hose. Also, because the brush-roll continues to spin, avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use. Hope this was helpful!

Is the "clunking noise" when right after depressing the handle release lever? Also your Meile has a 39 foot cleaning radius to cleaning the stairs should not be difficult, unless you're picking the vacuum up and using the brush roll. They make a turbine tool the attaches to the hose end that is fantastic and makes these hard areas easier.

Here is the link to Hoover's manuals. I could not locate a model F5900-900 But i believe it is F5914-900. Please verify before downloading manual by checking the serial number stick for a model. Its silver and should be on the back or bottom.

Take the brushroll out and see if it turns freely just by holding the end. Also make sure that the belt isn't stretched out. Also, before putting the head on the vac, you have to pick the belt up on the "finger" that's in the head. You can verify this by looking into the circle that's cut out of the metal.
