Question about HP LaserJet P2015 Printer

Cartridge is full then also page is printed light

Printing is dull

I just purchased this same printer and am also getting light copies. Tech support has determined that it is a hardware issue and unit must be replaced (possible fuser issue). On my first call they had me check rocking the new toner cartridge and waiting to see if the print would darken after 15- 30 copies. At 50 plus copies still very light AND I notice also banding on large solid color areas and white shadows in black areas. This was especially disappointing because the box indicated the printer was mfg in Japan. (HP Laserjet P2015D)

I have same printer (Laserjet P2015D) with light print brand new and banding and shadows on solid areas. Tech support at HP has ruled out that the new cartridge needed breaking in (15-30 copies). They are now saying it could be a fuser issue and since the machine is brand new I should exchange it at the retail store. Disappointing because box stated it was mfg in Japan and I was expecting better.

My hp deskjet 6940 inkjet printer doesn't show me level of ink in cartridge

Print a diagnostic page If the steps above have not helped, print and evaluate a diagnostic page to see if the cartridges or the printer is causing the problem.
  1. Make sure the printer is on and loaded with unused, plain, white paper.
  2. Press and hold the Power button and then press the Cancel button. Release both buttons. The diagnostic page prints. Figure 1: Power and Cancel buttonsc00584735.gif 1 - Cancel button 2 - Power button
Step 4: Note which cartridges printed which areas of the diagnostic page You must identify which cartridge printed which part of the diagnostic page, so that if you find defects on the page, you will know which cartridge is the problem. However, you can install different combinations of print cartridges in your printer, and different cartridge combinations print different diagnostic page patterns. Your diagnostic page may not look exactly like the picture below, but the right and left cartridges will print in the same areas of the page no matter which cartridges are installed. Figure 2: Diagnostic page layout (the patterns in each area may look slightly different on your page)c00584715.gif 1 - Printed by the right cartridge 2 - Printed by the left cartridge NOTE: If you are printing in reserve mode (one cartridge is missing), the missing cartridge's area of the diagnostic page will be blank. Step 5: Check ink levels NOTE: If you have installed a refilled or remanufactured ink cartridge, or a cartridge that has been used in another product, the ink level indicator is inaccurate or unavailable. Look in the middle of the diagnostic page. The bars with "E" (for "empty") and "F" (for "full") at each end show the ink levels in the cartridges. As ink is used, the solid color changes to a faded color. Canon mp530 - colors print dull and faded

The ink tanks may be full but sometimes the pins that connect the cartridges to the printer may have dried up ink on them preventing the ink from flowing. You can try to swab these with a bit of rubbing alcohol on a Qtip and letting it dry for moment or two. I would strongly suggest doing a couple of deep cleanings first and try test printing of the individual colours separately in a program such as paint to see which colour is affected.

I filled my cartilages but they printer says they are empty

If you refilled the cartridges with a refilling kit then this error will continue. You see, cartridges have a chip installed on them and it is programed to calculate approximate ink remaining after a certain number of pages are printed.

For eg, a chip on a new cartridge is programed that a full page takes say .5 ml, then if you print 1 full page or two half pages, it will deduct .5ml from the ink volume. When it reaches zero, it does not know how much ink is in there; it never knew in the first place. Now if you refill it up, the chip just thinks that all the pages have been printed so the cartridge must be zero.

In short, this error will stay, if you are able to print ignore the warning and continue to print until the print quality degrades. If you are unable to print you might have to install a new cartridge. OR if you're luck, you may find a chip reseter on the internet or from the refill service.

Myprinter will not print all colours they are mainly blue and yellow but very faint. I have carried out ALL the maintenace procedures several times without success and have checked that all the cartridges...

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click Printers
Right-mouse-click on your printer, and choose "printing preferences" or "properties".
There may be an option to control how "light" or "dark" the printing will be, i.e., use "less" or "more" ink per page.

Also, click "print test page", to ensure that the test-page has all 3 "primary" colours.

Also, click "clean ink cartridges", to try to repair any blockages inside the ink-cartridge.

If the printer starts to print and stop in the middle check the eletricity of your place, this may have a variation. If the printer prints a half page and give you the paper, with no jam, check the cartridges and then the main board.

Check the glass (the one the paper rests on). The underside of the glass that is. This is what the light 'sees', so, it will print this!

The printed pages with black is light and spotty.

Hello,
Try to run the "Clean Print Heads" utility. Sometimes it is called something else, but whenever your print quality degrades, this is a good program to run. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest replacing the print cartridge. Sometimes they go bad if they have not been used for a long time. Hope this helps!
