Were to get a toshiba cd-rom

I searched for Toshiba CD-ROM drives and found only support references to products made about ten years ago. Toshiba shows only hard drives on its storage device products page. I could be wrong, but it appears Toshiba is not in the CD/ROM drive business anymore.

Is there a particular reason you must have a Toshiba brand CD-ROM? Any CD-ROM with the same interface type should work, if you can find a driver compatible with your operating system. If I recall correctly, Toshiba uses Sony optical drives in its laptop computers. (So far as I know Toshiba always used standard interfaces, so a proprietary drive should not be an issue.) The prices on CD-R and CD- R/W devices have come down considerably in the last several years, so you may want to consider one of those if your computer is fast enough to support reliable disc burning operations (800 MHz or better should suffice).

Bios does not detect cd rom drives, the cd rom drives has power but it does not work cause bios its not detecting it and it a new drive, my toshiba satellite is a85-s107 let me know if u can fix it.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L355D that would not detect the CD Rom in the BIOS although the Rom appeared to powered up and running. I traced the problem to a ribbon cable connector that was between the jack the CD Rom plugged into and the jack on the mother board. The ribbon cable plug at the MB had backed out and was only making the power connections to the Rom making the Rom appear to be operating.

My keys I, O and - does not work anymore. My Model is M70-267.

Telephone Toshiba, and order a replacement keyboard,
and ask them for the Toshiba Authorized Service Depot that is nearest to you. Take the keyboard & computer to that Depot, and pay them to correctly & safely change the keyboard.

Toshiba Satellite M70 FN key lock

Hello,
See if F10 or F11 are lit. If so press Fn and the key that has a light below it to deactivate it.
If you cannot login, use a USB keyboard to bypass that hurdle and run Windows to reconfigure.

Hope it helps.

I have a Toshiba M70 laptop. I want to revert to the factory settings and re-install Window XP. The Product recovery DVD ROM does not run any program but just has a large file that Windows does not...

you should be able to boot to that disk and begin the reinstall process. just put the disk in, reboot, and watch the boot process to give you a prompt similar to "press any key to boot from CD..."
That should start you install.
