Go to the control panel, select printers, right clik on the printer and seect properties. Then go to the ports tab and make sure "Enable bidirectional ..." is selected. The rpinger should work on the network. You might have to restart your pc for it to work.

The printer installation on the local usb connection is different from the installation done on network connection.

The computer will see the networked printer and the USB cable connection as two diffeent printers.

You will probably need to reinstall the printer as a network printer from printers in control panel.

To reinstall the network printer follow the instructions on one of the two websites below, depending if you have XP or Vista:

YouTube - How to Install a Network Printer in Windows XP

How to install a network printer | Windows Vista

Remember that the files on printer cue for the local USB connection are separate from printer cue for network connections.

If you plan to use this printer as a network printer, do the installation procedure above , and set as default the newly installed network printer.
Using at same time a printer on network and USB cable can mess up your computer settings.
Use either network or USB installation and set the printer as default.

If the printer is already on the network, and it cannot be seen by the laptop as a remote (network ) installation try disabling all firewall/antivirus software on your laptop to install the printer.

If you have a firewall software you may also need to add the printer as an exception on your firewall settings.

If still no luck after doing that , then connect the laptop to the router or switch hooked up to the prionter using an ethernet cable and set the printer using the cable connection, and setting browse for printers on the network. After setting is finished it should also work as wireless when you unplug laptop from network cable.

If that still does not work, you may need to set up the printer by using its IP instead of browsing from printers on the network.

In Windows 7, items put in the print queue at home won't print when I get to the office.

I don't see how this can be done, because there are 2 different print queues in question. Not to mention the lag and buffer required by the printer. So when you disconnect communication the job hangs.

Besides the spooler at work my lie on a dedicated print server, especially if the printer is on a network and and not attached directly to you PC.

My Lexmark s605's print queue won't clear, and so the printer has stopped working altogether

Please follow the steps below to clear the print queue and restart the print spooler of your computer.

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Network Printer Queue in Peer to Peer Network

Hey there the printer may need additional ram, thats where it stores the printer que,
Brand: Kingston UPC: 196891036256should be the model for your printer. However, You can go back to where you had it connected to a pc directly and just share it, there really isint any downfall to this, except that the pc attached must always be on and should have a little extra ram.

Good luck!

How do I get the printer to print

Click on the printer icon at the bottom right of the screen. It should bring you to the print queue.

Make sure that the print queue has been released. Sometimes the queue will be in a "Hold" status.

You can also release each print job by clicking on the job and directing the queue to send the job to the printer.

Check your windows firewall or your antivirus.
Disconnect that for a while and delete all pending documents (queue).

Send a new doc to print and see what happen.
Usually those program are blocking the communication between printer and computer.
If this is your case, set a rule on your antivirus program.

Have a great day!

Print jobs no longer arrive on printer

try this: make sure you do not have any pending printjobs (cancel all documents if there's one) then delete all printer icons. Reboot the computer then launch the printer server software to locate it. add that network printer & make it your default.

probability is that some of your applications are sending printjobs to the wrong queue (like the one for the USB connection).
