Question about IBM ThinkPad R51 Notebook
Hey Karikalan! Make sure you don't run your computer without the fan on! This can cause permanant damage to the CPU as well as other components.
Sounds like you need a new CPU fan for your laptop. These usually range in price around $60 - $130. They can be installed by a computer expert, or if you want you can try it youself. Be careful though Processors and internal components are very sensitive! To install it youself you'll have to remove the bottom part of the computer's casing. Once that's finished you should see a part that looks like a mix of plastic / metal with a fan about 1" big in the middle of it. This is the component you'll want to replace. A new fan can be obtained from IBM or you can order an equivalent on Ebay. Usually they are cheaper this way.
Hope this helps!
