Format the pen drive after taking the backup and then defragmented it you will get smooth work in your pen drive. If not so fast after defragmentation then check your computer configuration and its space may be it is due to your computer is slow you con check whether your pen drive is ok or not by connecting it to any other good pc. good luck

Try inserting the pen drive into another computer to see if you can open the data on this pen drive.
If not you may need to format the pen drive.

My pen 4gb pendrive is working very slow it works 800kbps

When you plug in your USB pendrive into your computer and you get a message "This device can perform faster if connected to a high speed USB2 port".
This means your computer supports USB1 which is much slower than USB2 and the latest USB3.
There may be a BIOS upgrade to configure your computer to support USB2.

I have a TDK 4 gb pendrive .... i formated my pendrive... ma flash lock is missing and ma storage has been reduced to 2gb.... i want to increase ma storage how do i do that..???

FAT32 file system supports only up to 2GB of space, and more likely you have formated the drive as FAT32. When you plug the flash drive in the USB, right click on drive letter associated with the flash drive, select Format and on the next screen under File System select NTFS.

Pendrive not formatted

if u still having the same problem, follow these steps:

1.Insert your pendrive. open mycomputer, note the respective drive showing pendrive.

2. Then go to run and type cmd ( or go to command prompt)

3.It will show like: C:\> or C:\Documents and Settings\UserName>

4.Type the drive name of pendrive as shown in e.g
if drive is h: then type as

c:\>h:
h:\>format h:
it will format and ask for media name, you can give the name of your pendrive.

your pen drive is formatted. Now it will show the free space as 8G.B

It shows this device can perform faster. the pen drive is slow

this is usb issue
your computer usb has a lower version than your pendrive
you cannot use better drivers because this is from mainboard chipset
Also you can put a pci usb card version 2.0 for your pendrive
