You're using the wrong language/ go to control panel then go to languages regional and change everthing to your country or the original country of the laptop

My sharb cash register XE-A40S got error( Not assigned) I press CL+1+Clk ) dos not work what I have to do?

That is strange. You may have had the clerk sign on codes changed by someone. Make sure you are using the CLK# button at the top of the keyboard next to DEPT SHIFT button. Make sure the key is turned to REG position. If 1 CLK# doesn't work, try 2 CLK# or 9 CLK# Most machines will print the clerk number on the display once you enter it correctly e.g "-01-"

When I type letters or numbers using my key board nothing appears on my Desktop. Microsoft Basic Keyboard When I type nothing prints out I disconnect it and re connect it still has the same problem.

if your using the numbers keypad to the right on your keyboard, it sounds like you need to press the numlock button to activate the keys. if thats not the case , you may want to replace your keyboard if this is an issue that involves the upper number keys above the qwerty board.

Keyboard is working improperly

I had a keyboard that would only print a 5 in a box everytime I pressed the u button. Most of the other keys were putting strange combinations up too.
I found out I had the numlock key at the top (near the top row) and pressed it. Viole' I can read what I am typing (and you can too). Maybe this is your problem?

I have an acer aspire 5610 laptop. Some of the keys on the keyboard do different things to what the symbol on them represents: the @ symbol looks like its near the 'enter' key, but i have to hold down...

You have your keyboard set as US. If you go into control panel, open Regional and Language options and change all of the settings with a country to UK. That will solve your problem.

Programming help

Hi Leanne,
It depends which line it is on.
The codes for the lines are:
132 line 1
232 line 2
332 line 3
432 line 4

Turn the key to program mode

Type the line number (eg if VAT is on 3rd line down, type 332)

Press SUBTOTAL

Type the new details for that line using the programming layout in your book under the 'entering characters' section. You need to use the numbers at the left side, not the normal number pad. Eg 5/0 is above the clear key. To switch between the top and bottom numbers on the key, use CAPS or SHIFT. If you make a mistake while entering, the decimal point button will delete the last character.

Press 00 (the double zero button)

Press CASH

Press SUBTOTAL

Turn the key back to reg mode, and try printing a receipt. Note - you might have to print two receipts before you see the change.

Hope this helps. If you have any problems, just let me know.

Keyboard buttons

Hi Grumpy Gran
Great name by the way. Are they listed top to bottom ` a two headed arrow, caps lock, an up arrow and ctrl?
These are not particular active keys. If you have used a typewriter the two headed arrow is the tab key, use it to jump a given number of spaces to the right.
The caps lock will set your keyboard in capitals mode. The uparrow is the shift key which temporarily puts it into capitals or vice-versa. The ctrl key is a special key which is not used in normal typing. You may not need it in normal use.
Good luck with your surfing.
ps its not a good idea to unplug your keyboard whilst the computer is still on. You should connect it when the computer is off so that it is detected when the computer starts.
