Tips for a great answer:
1) short in circuit... frayed wire, accidental circuit board contact with metal frame, solder bridge on circuit board, or wire placement/connection error
2) Too high voltage in circuit can cause excess current
TROUBLE SHOOTING: measure circuit voltage w/ meter. If normal, put amp-meter (with fuse) in circuit
at problem fuse connector and quickly check current.
If very high, trace (look) along current path for location
of a short to ground/frame/etc.
Hope this helps...if this is all Greek, consider looking

i have been to fic's web site, i cannot find any mb labeled au31.
do you have anymore information about the board, how old, which processor, what socket, which north bridge, south bridge, which model system, etc?
however the pins are usually marked "pwr sw" or "pwr" and are usually with all the other front panel connector pins.
