Is it possible to shoot yourself in the chest?

I'm not sure of the type of product that was used ....but is it possible to be able to shoot yourself in the chest 3 times? Are there saftey mechanisms in place to prevent this from happening?
Are all these products covered by strict guidelines or can anyone have one in the house?

Most modern pneumatic and electric staple guns have safety features designed to prevent accidental discharge (often a pressure plate that has to have pressure on it while the trigger is being pulled). That being said, if you purposely wanted to staple yourself in the chest, you could. I also imagine if you fell on the tool just right while your finger was on the trigger, it could possibly happen. It is also possible to "defeat the safety mechanisms" through various means - if you wanted to (though I don't know why you'd want to).

I guess it would be depending on the type of tool. Most tools have a safety mechanism that would have to be defeated or completely disabled to fire without depressing the safety and could fire freely. I would think again depending on the product that there are guidelines on the proper use and safety of the tools and as far as anyone in the house there are not kid toys and I would not let a minor use one even under supervision unless the adult knows all the functions of the tool. You can go to Stanleybostitch.com and view some of their products and manuals. I hope I answered your question

Stapler will staple ok then it will jamb and break staple in half, and driver will stick but you can put driver back and will run for a short time then has same problem. It also is breaking up staples as it...

It sounds like the gun is working properly but is having feeding problems. First, make sure you are using the proper staples for your gun. Senco makes three versions of the SKS(XP) stapler: The SKS L11-17 drives 18 gauge, 1/4" staples. The SKS M12-17 drives 18 gauge, 3/8" staples. The SKS N12-17 drives 16 guage, 7/16" staples. None of them use staples over 1 1/2" long and each gun will only shoot the staples it is set up for. If you are using the correct staples make sure the rail and nose peices are clean and the feeder shoe and staples are riding freely on the rail and the feeder spring holds them firmly forward in the gun. Lastly check the tip of the driver to make sure it is square, it should not be rounded or have any chips out of it.

The info on the gun says it will shoot many different staples, but it will only take 3/8 staples and I need to use 1/2 staples to do the job.

The T50P stapler uses T50 staples of various lengths, including 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2. Is it possible that the 1/2 inch staples you are trying to use are not T50? All T50 staples are the same width and should fit your stapler. There are several other widths of staples that are not T50, although T50 is the most common.

How do you adjust the staple size to load 1/2" or 1/4" staples?

Staple guns can use a variety of staples; the width of the staple is fixed, the lengths vary from 1/4" up (usually in 1/8" increments). You don't need to adjust the staple gun for the different lengths, just be sure the width fits your gun since some manufacturers have used brand-specific staples.

There are also a variety of staple types; there are staples for ceiling tile, electric wire, window screening, etc. My favorite staples for wood have the tips cut on a sharp angle, they penetrate wood well. Some staple types require a particular gun, I have a gun that shoots only round-top staples for small cables like phone & thermostat wire.

Won't shoot staples it still shoots no staples come out was working fine seconds before

look for a jammed staple near the end of the magazine that is stopping them from advancing. Also make sure they move freely in/on the magazine. Double check to ensure that you are using the right staples for this tool.

Won't shoot staples. Proper loading instructions please.

Make sure the staples you are using are compatable with your gun they should be type 53 or JT21 staples and they are not longer tham the gun is capable of taking I think the maximum capacity for this gun is 5/16 or 8mm.
Turn the gun upside down and pull back the carriage, the staples are laid in the empty chamber in the gun itself not on the carriage points facing in the direction they fire ie points facing you .
Push back the carriage this should slide over the strip of staples until the carriage clicks shut.
You should now be ready to fire, try and keep pressure down on the gun as the recoil can make the gun bounce and you will leave the staples proud.
Hope this helps.
