Hi,
First, Check power cable is connected properly or not.

Second, Right click on My Computer...
Click Properties
Click "Advanced" tab
under "System Failure" see if "automatically restart" is checked. Uncheck it if it is. That usually causes the computer to spontaneously restart.

Third, Scan your whole system for viruses.

Thanks

1. Restart the machine
2. Before Windows starts, press F8
3. Select Safe mode.
4. Run your antivirus in safe mode
5. Clean the machine and reboot

If it doesn't work, Choose the option SYSTEM RESTORE and restore the system to the day previous the problem

Good luck.

Computer runs slow. which antivirus is best for installing.

Hi,
Microsoft works constantly to release updates to Windows and other Microsoft products, including Office. At Microsoft Update, you can find and install all these updates—not just the critical ones. Often, these updates will improve your computer's performance.
You can make life easier by automating Microsoft Update so your computer downloads and installs all the updates without you having to worry about them.
To automate Microsoft Update:
  1. In your Start menu, click Control Panel.
  2. In the Automatic Updates dialog box, check the Automatic (Recommended) check box. You can define the time of day when your computer checks for updates. If the computer finds any updates, it will download and install them automatically for you.
  3. Click OK.

Install antivirus and antispyware programs Computer viruses and spyware (hidden software that gathers information about you without your knowledge or consent when you're using a computer) both reduce system performance. Computer viruses can not only reduce performance, but they can also destroy data. Any computer that accesses the Internet should have antivirus and antispyware programs installed.
Smooth running
Follow these steps and you'll have your computer purring like a vintage Porsche (or whatever your dream car of choice is). And the best part? Maintaining your computer is a lot less messy than an automobile. You don't even have to roll up your sleeves

Format all your hard drive and do a clean install, One tip though, how to avoid Virus attack is not letting the virus to your system, how? for example, a virus came from your USB drive, it won't attack your system if you cancel all the autorun pop ups when you insert the usb drive and do not double click on it, double clicking on USB triggers the Autoplay and virus spreads out like a pandoras box, If you get what I mean it could save you from virus.

Install a good Anti Virus of your choice and always update the virus definition in order for you to be fully protected and be very careful on clicking links on some websites, anti virus has a feature that knows if a website has a potential virus or not, use it.

Computer Restarts.

Most probably windows is generating an error and your computer is set to automatically restart when an error occurs. Try disabling automatic restart. right click my computer and select properties. click on the advanced tab and uncheck the automatically restart check box.

The reason why we need to do this is for us to see the actual error so that we will know what to do.

Downloaded Mcafee internet security 1 year subscription and nothing has appeared on my computor

you better be getting that for free.. other wise you may be wasting your money.. mcafee is not one the best antivirus known out there.

keep in mind that downloading the antivirus is not the same as installing the antivirus and getting it to run.. so look for the installation package you download and look for a file that's called setup.exe and run it to actually install the antivirus. once install, configure automatic updates for your antivirus and you should see the macfee icon on the system tray (bottom rigth area where the clock is).

Computer shuts down auotmaticaly then restarts itself , frequently

Hi ,

Many has this problem.
1. The main reason behind this problem is that your system is experiencing "system failure".

To overcome this problem,
First Go to start->right click my computer->click the advanced tab, go down to startup and recovery-> uncheck the "automatically restart" box.

Now your computer will not restart while experiencing the "system failure". Instead of the restart you will get an error message which can help you diagnose the source of this problem .

2. The other reason may be the power supply(SMPS). Make sure that sufficient power is provided for all the parts of the CPU.
For eg: If you are having any high end graphics card, that will consume more power and there are chances that the power supply will get educd to other parts.
So make sure you have SMPS( power supply) sufficient enough. Also you can try with higher power SMPS.

3. It may also be due to the heat produced that you might want to look into that, check in the bios setting for you temperature right after the computer shuts down. You might need a better heatsink or more fans in your case.

4. It might also because of virus ,so try an updated antivirus and scan your system.
