Question about Levelone CP TECHNOLOGIES LEVELONE WIRELESS-G WNC-0304USB 802.11G USB ADAPTER W/WI-FI DETECTOR (Retail) 802.11g/b

2 Answers

I am trying to set up my Levelone WBR-6001.

This is about the WBR-6001 wireless N router-when I run the ''quick installation guide'' i am told that there is no router in the system, yet i have internet explorer open in the background! when I use the cd to set this up, I type in the IP address that came with the instructions and for 30+ efforts i get the cannot find page screen.
i have hit the manual reset, i have rebooted my computer as it stated after i made sure that the ip setting is correct. I really dont want to throw this thing out the window so if there are any suggestions it would be much appreciated

I.P Setting you are referencing... is it for the router, computer, or both? many times you have to set the i.p. manually on the adaptor in the p.c. to match 1 or 2 digits higher or lower than the router, unplug everything else and configure. then set pc i.p. address to auto and reset router and disable then enable adaptor to gain auto address. Also be sure UPNP is on

Open "Network Connections" on your wireless laptop, and check that the wireless adapter is "enabled". Look for a slider-switch on your computer that may "enable/disable" your wireless adapter.

Wireless is enabled, but every device that tries to connect says "Unable to connect". Have tried everything from No Security to WEP to WPA/WPA2.

Change the wireless channel type in router and disable and enable wifi radio on router with below method. You can also configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on wireless and disable then enable it. Go to wireless->wireless channel type to 3 or 6 or 11 then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless .. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a wireless router wbr2310 and i dont have the cd rom to install it in my computer, where can i download a free one?

You can download a manual or quick set-up guide from the D-Link web site support section.
You can connect to the router using a LAN cable or to wireless dlink and use the IP address of 192.168.0.1 should allow you into the set-up menu. The default router login is ADMIN and password is blank. You should be able to set-up the router without a CD.

Internet is slow when using the router.

check your hard drive capacity and check if you need to do a defragmentation.
You didn't specify if you are connecting via wireless or hard connection i.e. Ethernet cord.
If you have DSL you may want the ISP to do a line check at the drop to your house. This may cause slow connectivity if the line has been chewed by a squirrel or water leakage into the insulation. It is very rare but if this check out then it is the router itself or the cable.
This also sounds like the router is not allocating the proper switching for each computer and the bandwidth is given to the highest priority task computer.
