I have a 2006 Vizio 37 inch LCD that has started to turn itself off randomly.
Sometimes its within a few seconds of me turning it on, other times its hours into the TV being on. Sometimes it turns off once and then is fine and other times it will turn itself off several times in a row.
I called Vizio and, of course, my warranty has expired. I reset the TV per their instructions and have changed power sources, but am still having the problem.
Anyone have any solutions for this? Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide!
i have a l 37 vizio that keeps turning off by itself i took it back to the place i bought it from but they said they would have to run it all weekend is there any one that can offer me or them any advice?
This could be a main board or power board issue. replacing main board and/or power board should resolve this problem.

The main board has gone bad. Replace the board will fix it.

Solution: A new wifi extender, or a new or reset wireless modem or router in the range of the TV will cause this problem. Disconnect the TV from wifi, then reconnect manually and this will solve the problem. If you are not comfortable manually setting up the wifi connection you can reset the TV to factory settings and go through the setup process but you will also need to re-program the remote control again. (look in your manual to find instructions).

SOURCE: Vizio LCD 37 Inch Turns Off Randomly
I had the same problem with MY Vzio L32 randomly powering itself on and off. The problem Is U26 on the main board. Solder a 10K resister to pins 2 and 3.

Same problem, has been going on for 6 months, sometimes 15 times in a row, then no problem for weeks.
32" Vizio LCD manufactured 2006. Randomly turns itself. Starting to get more and more frequent. Maybe had the t.v. for a little over 1.5 years. Was impressed with Vizio but probably not gonna buy another one.
