The pressure roller in the fixing unit thermister might flipped check and adjust or replace.
double image is caused by wear and tear of upper roller.\ due to web not turning or running out..you will net to rebuilt your fixing unit. also check that you have the update web bushings so next time it won't lock up and damage your upper roller.

Re: c46 appeared on my toshiba e-studio 550 copier
C46 indicates Abnormal pressure roller thermistor during a ready state.
Perform following inspection:
1.. Clear the status counter.
Change the current status counter value (08-400) “3” or “8” to “0”.
If happen again, perform following inspection:
1. Check the pressure roller thermistor. (1) Check if the connector is not disconnected. (2) Check if the pressure roller thermistor closely touches the surface of the pressure roller. (3) Check if the harness of the pressure roller thermistor is not open-circuited.
2. Check the LGC board. (1) Check if the connector J334 is not disconnected. (2) Check if the conductor pattern on the LGC board is not short- or open-circuited. (3) Replace the LGC board.

If you have replaced all that, check your drum cleaning blade and your erase lamps, these two items will contribute for Ghost images "double image". The erase lamps disperse the electrical charge so the blade can scrap the toner off the drum.
Double print usually happens when Drum completed its life and Cleaning Blade unable to clean the drum surface properly, Replacing of Drum and Cleaning blade will gave you good copy quality, Don't forget to clean Charger unit
It may take replacement of the toner cartridge and some cleanup to get it working again. Remember that new toner cartridges are sealed and that seal is removed at the time of installation. A cartridge that has been idle and unsealed for some time is likely to be no good
You a get a technichian to look at your machine simply becouse you might not know where the problem is even if I instruct you, however note this:-
The problem is with the fixing unit, the fuser membrane is one at faulty no wonder double images therefore change the fuser membrane the problem is gone. the fixing unit is where the copy paper pass and the pressure roller together with the membrane enables the image to be permanent on paper, sometimes you just need to clean the rollers using silicon oil i.e. the pressure roller and the membrane.
Try to stop the copier (by jamming a sensor or opening a cover) mid-way through the printing cycle. Remove the 1/2 copied document out from the drum area. Look to see if you have the double printing. This will eliminate the fuser as the problem. If you don't have the double printing then the fuser's cleaning roller may be shot causing repeat image. If it is in the drum area it will be hard to determine since you already replaced the drum(?). But there is a "cleaning" lamp or charge wire on the drum to check.
It's one of two of these solutions. The fixing rollers more so the upper fixing roller which is the hot rollers at the exit end of the copier is dirty or need replacing. Or the drum has a cleaning blade on it that needs replacing. If you look at the drum and see if toner is still on the drum if so then your cleaning blade needs replacing. Also if that copier uses a blanking lamp then it might not be turning on so you can get double images.
The paper is getting stuck near the fusser unit......Normally you can (Caution this unit is hot leave the printer off for a while)
remover the fusser unit from the back of the printer...view to check that due to heat the plastics may have bent a little where the paper hits and gets stuck...check both the inlet and the out let path on the fusser itself...and the rear surface where the fusser sits......try to forcing it to place... not over doing it as it may break,,just a little pressure
Check to see that the Teflon the cover inside the fusser is intact and not torn....if its torn you will need to change the fusser.....
resit the fusser
close and test print
if this doesn't fix the issue you will need to change the fusser unit
Please do not forget to vote or if you need further clarification feel free
If its spots this could have been from the cartridge or the fusser unit... Do a half print test...send a print page to your printer listen to the printer print as soon as you think the printer has printed some little bit switch off the printer...take the cartridge and view the printed portion can you see the spots..if not.....than its your fusser unit thats marking the paper....remove the half printed paper slowly.....not to tear it......remover the fusser unit(hot unit)........at the back of the printer....towards the top....on the unit it self you will see a Teflon paper ....move the gear on the far end of the fusser unit itself and view if there is any spots....try cleaning this spots slowly as not to damage the Teflon or mark the Teflon.....
