    Hi,

    This is most likely a firewall or software issue. Tap F8
    while turning on the computer and select “Safe mode with networking”. Boot to
    the desktop in safe mode and check if you are able to go online. This will
    confirm the cause of the issue.

    Hope this helps, Do let us know what happened

    Thanks

Are you using Norton Internet Security? Perhaps even with ANOTHER anti-virus product installed?

At any rate, turn off / uninstall any firewall product you are using and see if this solves the problem.

You might wanna try disable any kind of Firewall software installed in your computer. If email is accessible this only means that there is no with your connection to the Internet.

Connect another computer to wireless router instructions say go to site www.linksysfix.com/ela

on any standard UNSECURED router, all you should have to do is click connect under "Network connections" in Control Panel. However, if the wireless router you would like to connect to is SECURED (password protected), you will just need to type in the password required in the connections when prompted.

This is assuming the other computer you are trying to add is wireless capable.

Network adapter

First off, if you can connect to the Internet ok then you really don't have a problem. There probably is another network card attached to your computer that is not configured correctly.

If you can't Get online then try this:

Go to control panel, network connections (something similar) and if the network card appears than right click and chose repair connection.

would check in device manager (control panel) and see if the network card is listed. It probably has a yellow exclamation point next to it. If there is an exclamation point there, then right click the card and click uninstall.

Somehow download the latest network card driver from the PC vendor website / Motherboard vendor site / discrete network card site.

Hope this helps

I am a teacher at an elementary school and I am trying to connect a Dell Wireless 1450 Wireless USB adaptor to a brand new Dell computer. We have wireless internet at our school. I cannot get the thing to...

hi..
so you are not able to see the networks at all,1st make sure that we are detecting the wireless network and that the drivers are installed in the computer
follow these steps..
click on start,control panel,network and internet connection and then network connection.
2)under network connection you will see a conneciton that says wireless network connection.
3)right click and click on view wireless networks,once you are in this box if it says windows cannot configure then perform step number 5 and if you can see the network perform steps no 4.
4)you will probably see the network of you school,click on the netwokr name and you will see a tab that says connect,click on connect and if the network in your school is secured then it will tell you to put in the password which you can get by speaking with the network administrator..once connected it will tell you that you are connected and then try going online..
5)if no networks are detected and says windows cannot configure,click on start,all progams,dell wireless and then click on dell wireless wlan card utility,
6)In this card utility you will see a that says general and under that tab you will see a box which will shows you the available networks then click on the network and then either you will have a connected button or cofigure button now depending upon the network it will either tell you to put the password or the network key once you do that the wireless should get connected and you should be able to go online now...
hope this steps will resolve the issue...Best of luck...
let me know incase if you see a different screen..

Trouble with Linksys Wireless Router

Try unplugging both the modem and the router. count to 15 then plug back in and try.
Keep in mind also that some routers dont connect 100% till you open a browser, weird but I have had similar problems.
It sounds like you may have problems at both ends.
Several things come to my mind;
make sure you shut down ALL programs in the background.

you are trying to problem solve by elimination, so close anything that may connect to the internet and take away that variable.

scan for spyware etc.

do a registry clean, temp files cleanup etc.

sometimes restarting the pc can help
good luck

Can't Connect to the Internet

Hi,

Two things you can try before trying your browser/Internet connection:
1. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon, click on Repair. Allow the computer time to repair its WiFi connection and some other settings;
2. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon, click on Status. Click on properties button, select TCP/IP (Internet Protocol), click on Properties button, verify that the option "Obtain IP address automatically is ticked, OK, OK.
3. In your browsers, verify/modify settings:
In Mozilla, click on Tools, Options, Advanced tab, Network tab, Settings button, tick "Auto-detect proxy settings for this connection, OK, OK;
In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN settings button, check "Automatically detect settings" (& pls make sure there is no check mark on the Proxy server), OK, Advance tab, check Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.
In Opera, Tools, Preferences, Advanced tab, Network, Proxy server buttons, check "Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy, OK, OK.

Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information. Hope that this be of some help/idea.

Good luck and kind regards.
