As you mentioned you replaced and checked with another speaker this clearly indicates that the speakers are prober the the internal audio connection on the main board is got shorted out due to overload current passed or due to overheating of its faulty component that board needs replacement.just get it to the repair center as you manually cannot replace this board any how.

Please check under Add/Remove program to confirm that Sigmatel/IDT audio driver and Sonic Focus component have been removed, if not, please remove them before installing the updated Sonic Focus driver.

There seems to be 2 copies of IAS driver on download center (there should only be 1, I suspect this is caused by some posting glitches), please use the newer one:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&Inst=Yes&ProductID=2205&DwnldID=15520&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Professional&lang=eng

FYI, Intel Audio Studio (IAS) will not be supported moving forward. The latest driver would be the final IAS release.

Alternatively, u may try installing the audio driver with IDT's own GUI, which still has limited support:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&Inst=Yes&ProductID=2205&DwnldID=13706&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Professional&lang=enghttp://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&Inst=Yes&ProductID=2205&DwnldID=13706&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Professional&lang=eng

Hope this helps.

Theproblem might be that the sound driver was corrupted or removed. Sometimes it happends if you using some DVD burning softwear.
You need to update the driver
In the device Properties dialog box, click the DRIVER tab, and then click UPDATE THE DRIVER to start the HARDWARE INSTALLATION WIZARS Follow the instructions to update the driver. You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

Think you might have fried part of your board? Seriously, I would take the panel off your box and look at the board. Can you see any dark areas near the input? Do you smell anything like a burnt smell? Especially since the speaker "glowed" and the fact that you connected another set of speakers and they didn't work either.

This means that your sound card is blown. They are cheap and easy to install. You can get 1 from walmart for 20.00. and it will have it's own install disk. The reason it's saying the drivers neeb to be loaded is because it has a problem starting the onboard sound device.

It sounds like its possible that the speakers also may have fried your audio card/onboard audio. If you give me the make and model of the computer I can better assist you. If you have onboard audio just upgrade to a sound card, if your pc has a sound card, just replace it with a new one. If this job is out of your expertise it is best to take it to a computer professional. If you need further assistance let me know. Also please take a moment to accept and rate my solution accordingly.
Thank you,

Not likely to be a fuse. The bane of electrical amps are the connectors.

Often the speaker and more commonly the input 1/4 inch connectors go bad. Sometimes caused by side loads when cables are yanked or tripped over.

Be careful of running amps IF the speakers are not connected OR have bad connectors or cables. You can arc over the tubes or pop transistors.

Get a cheap Volt-ohmeter from HarborFreight or Radio Shack and test your cables and connectors.

For a tube amp, your should find relatively low resistance at the speaker connector (certainly under 20 ohms). Do this with power off.

it seems like the power button is at fault i doubt it will effect your data unless you pass it to a bad repair man who may erase everything your hard drive is a seperate entity and can be removed for backup

M602 Speaker Problem,.. Popping Sound

This worked for me on my M604: Try inserting/removing a headphone plug into the jack several times to see if that clears the problem.

The "popping" sound is very similar to the sound that the unit makes when inserting headphones into the 'headphone' jack on the back of the unit.

The jack has a contact switch that triggers a relay inside the unit. If that contact switch is 'on the verge' of making contact, slight temperature changes may cause deform closer to it's contact target. The subsequent capacitance build-up and discharge across the gap could explain the cycle of popping noises after the unit warms up.

LG Plasma TV has speakers fizzing in short bursts, cant hear any audio

Yes I believe you have a hardware failure in your audio amp IC. In some cases, a speaker will cause all the audio to distort, but its very rare for a speaker to cause this issue. If you just got it, you can return for a quick resolution, or contact a local repair center for a new main board replacement.

Subwoofer crakling sound when playing anything.

Hello Ronaldlora
Happy Holidays

Hi, this is a particular problem for this speakers, and subwofer, it is a resistor inside the sub, you have to fix it in a repair shop, or ...sadly, change for another model of Creative Speakers, for example one good one is the 7800 Spk. good ones.
but like I say is a problem that creative labs is aware too.
