i don't mean to sound stupid here, i am machine illiterate tho. I can find a red on/off switch on the back underneath side but I cannot find any other places to make settings or reset. I have tried manually setting the focus but it just goes back to trying to focus itself and that is out of focus. Thank you so much for your help. And yes, I would be glad to give you a positive feedback.

I thank Fixe_You for his help but the problem is still not fixed. I see no place to reset or check settings. The only button I can find is the on and off switch and then the button to move to the next slide.

The focus still is going in and out. Can someone please tell me what I can do since there is no reset or settings that I can find, or tell me where on the machine to find them.

I thank you for your answers Fixe_You and to whomever else can help me w/ this problem.

    Thanks, Linda

For the past couple of weeks, the freezer will loose its cool enough to thaw or partially thaw what is in it, but two or three hours later it will be frozen again. Keeps going back and forth. Ideas?

possible problem thermostat or freezer setting to close to one setting
reset to a bigger number as the numbers work opposite to the fridge settings ( 1 is close to 0 degrees and 20 is -20 degrees ) where as in a fridge 1 is close to 0 degrees and 5 is + 5 degrees above 0

My temp gauge is going back in forth. when i accelerate the gauge goes to hot. when i stop the gauge goes to cold, can u tell me what is wrong

check your coolant level. It is important to pressure test the cooling system to ensure it can maintain 15psi pressure to keep the coolant from boiling off. When you accelerate combustion temperatures exceed 1000 degrees while the engine needs to operate between 190 and 220 degrees roughly. If your coolant level is good, replace your thermostat, which is usually cheap. If the problem persist you are looking at a possible water pump.

Cannot auto focus

It sounds like the circuit board flex has gone bad, It folds back and forth when you zoom the lens, And needs to be replaced by a repair shop and readjusted. Tony

Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Lens Auto focus motor keep working back and forth but lense is not able to stop on focus right. Had eror 01 also sometime with manual focus.

If your AF motor is hunting then the lens probably needs to be looked at. I wouldn't recommend this as something to do at home so you will need to either find a repair shop if it is out of warranty or return it to Canon if it is in warranty.

How and When to use AUTO FOCUS and MANUAL FOCUS of my contax t2 camera?

There are no rules or conventions for this. It is totally up to you to chose which method to use.

Sometimes when taking images in close up where a leaf or stalk may invoke autofocus to lock onto the wrong object to get a clear pic, then select manual so your subject is in focus

Depth Of Field is also associated with focusing, autofocus does not always deal well ith DOF situations. It might be better for you to get a simple book on digital photography to help you understand how to get the best results from your camera

The lens kit of my Sony DSLR A200 produces noise

If it's in continuous auto-focus and doing it, then it is just not locking on to one thing and jumping back and forth between two objects that are very close together in distance and it is normal. It should stop in manual, single shot or single point auto-focus. Sony uses Nikon auto-focus technology and my D-300 with a 70-200mmf2.8 will do it if I turn the auto-focus tracking time(lock-on) all the way down with the auto-focus in full auto.

Canon AF Issues

Change from auto focus to manual focus or focus using only one focal square and change the setting to One Shot. You may need to shoot in Manual (M) mode though. Any of the "auto" modes will not let you.

Video noise

When in video camera mode, press menu, and change auto focus mode from c (continuous) to s (single). The noise you hear is the auto focus motor going back and forth, trying to find the object focus constantly.
You can use this only if the object is not changing the distance to the camera while recording.
