I have the Sanyo VPC-5500. I accidentally hit format and all of my pictures are gone. I do not have a memory card in the camera. Is there any possible way to retrieve my lost photos?

Unfortunately not from a user standpoint, the camera formatting is irreverseable.

im sorry to hear you lost your pictures. you may be able to contact a data recovery specialist in your area, and they may be able to help, but i dont think they would even be able to access anything seeing as its not a hard drive, its internal flash mem.

please rate well! again, sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Sanyo VPC-5500 says "card locked"

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

You can use a card reader to download the pics and then you can format the card in the camera. This one costs $13 at Walmart and can read 32 different cards. 2da6113.jpg

In the camera menu, there should be an entry for "copy" which should give you the option to copy to a memory card.

I have the VPC-S600. My husband accindently formatted the SD card with photos on it. Can I recover the pictures?? They are extremely important??? The Sd card is a Polaroid 2GB by PNY Please help????

Once the card is formatted, all is gone. A computer has a sector of the hard drive that "format" doesn't touch but portable storage devices don't have that protection.

Retrieving deleted photos without memory card

Yes, you can get them back...but ONLY if you have not taken any pictures after you formated the camera. There are programs out there that use data recovery to get your pictures back, but like I said, If you have taken pictures on your camera after you did the format...nothing will work.

Is there any free software I can download to retrieve photos on the sanyo VPC 5500 no memory card"

Sadly not, when you format the card or memory, it wipes it clean off the system. Unlike Hard Drives, there is no magnetic trace from which you could reconstruct the data. Sorry it's not good news :(
