Question about Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Photo Printer

1 Answer

SERVICE REQUIRED ERROR.

I only used this printer a couple of times and i got and error saying, "Service Required. Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life". I read a couple of articles and i downloaded SCC UTILITY but when i click "Show counter value" the program says "Some error occured"...

When i install the SCC UTILITY it can minimize, after 1 use it cannot minimize anymore, it says "Access violation at address 00424D5F in module 'scc_serv.exe Read of address 00000028'"

Please note: i used this exact program to reset my EPSON STYLUS R220 PRINTER and it worked PERFECTLY.

I just tried that, the SSC Utility runs as it should, it can minimize now, but the "Show current value"& "Reset protection counter" buttons are not highlighted only the "Clear counter overflow". I used this button as there was no other choice but i still have my faithful error message.."Service Required"...please help :(

Yes, this waz set correctly, set to epson picturemate deluxe and the other to picturemate... but still message appear... isn't there some combination where you can press the buttons on the printer itself to reset this?

Uninstall SSC Service Utility, and reinstall the drivers for the printer. Reinstall SSC and clear the protection counter, as well as the Head Shots counters.

Have you checked that in both the printer selection page, and the settings page, that the printer is correctly selected, and is set to use the correct port on the PC?

Yes, if you click through the tabs on SSC there is one which allows you to select the printer you want SSC to effect, and then below, you select the model of the printer that it is talking to.

There's no button combination to reset the counters and pad usage on that model. Make sure you have the latest version of SSC - I think it needs to be at least version 4.1 for it to work correctly with that printer.

Parts inside in my printer are near the end of their service life

A Service Error where you get a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is:

1. Replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones (many people ignore this one, and they just follow #2)
2) Reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter by using SSC Utility

Download from this site http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml and follow instructions.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

Error message "service required...parts inside

This is a very common problem and is basically your printer reaching a point where an internal counter has tripped. The primary reason for this is the printer has guesstimated that the waste pads are now full and need changing.

Resolving it is pretty simple...

You can either take it to a service centre (assuming they'll be able to service one as old as the R220) and get them to handle it for you.

OR..

Do some searching on the subject of fitting an external waste ink tank. You'll also need to reset the waste ink counter which can be handled using the A10_IPR utility that Epson released for North American customers some time back.

For more information on your specific printer along with instructions on how to fit an external waste ink tank this link should help.

Xerox work center 7132 will not boot up. error code (092-310). It says shut down printer and turn it back on. but i did that cuople of times still the same error code. it says contact service if error...

Try to unplug the device directly from the socket wall and leave it for 5min. Plug in again. If message still occour it could be related to 2 reasons.
1. Sensor problem leading to "ghost" message -- require eng.
2. Toner replacement also causes this message.

Even if you do couple of boot routines you might want to have someone onsite to have a look at it. It might require parts.

Changed ink both ink and paper light are flashing can not reset them

It says that your inkpad inside the printer has to be changed. You may see the error in your pinters status monitor quoting "An internal part of your printer is aged. Service maintenane is required." An cost effective way to solve this problem is download SSC service utility and clear the service required error.

Service required error

Ok.. aside from the fact that you've posted under the R300 Epson model thread you're still in luck.

The CX6600 has been documented (by me admittedly) with a complete guide to fitting an external tank and resetting the waste ink counter in the printer.

http://www.octoink.co.uk/store/pages/Epson-CX6600.html

Just to note: This is a commercial site but the information provided is generic and will help you fix the problem.

I had this problem also. What i did was hold down the 'stop' and the 'B&W' buttons while powering up. this erased the error message and now I am up and running fine again.
