Error 30??

Power off the unit and make sure the picker and arm move freely. Often a stuck tape can cause this. Also try cleaning the Tacho in case the arm cannot tell that it is trying to move.
This issue is often more about fluff blocking a sensor than about an actual hardware failure.
If you need to send it for repair though try going to http://tape-drive-repair.com and seeing if they can help you directly

Proximity detector off failed

Hello!

I had the same problem with our Storagetek L40 library and had to get another robotic hand from a company named Instock Inc.
It was an easy fix. I just had to power off the L40 library, take off the old hand and put the new hand on, then turned the L40 library back on, and it worked great after that.
In the hand is a sensor that goes bad after time.

You should be able to find them on the web at instockinc.com I believe, and they should have the hand you would need.

HP StorageWorks 1/8 Tape Autoloader SDLT 320 - tape library - Super DLT - SCSI Displayed Error! Code: A0 When you try to import or export are displayed error code 90

The library picker arm cannot move to the home position. There could be something blocking it. Try the Reset option from the Configuration menu. This is detailed in the library user guide.

On power up we get an 'E' during drive initialization

E stands for error (Although i am sure you could have guessed this)

Try to see if the drive at the back is passing self test or not so we know if it is a drive or loader issue

If it looks as if the drive is OK try cleaning the tape slots as there are sensors to sense tape loaded etc

Is the arm (and the main chassis) bent? this will also cause issues.

If it is a drive issue (Drive fails POST) then it is most likely a tape leader issue where the drives needs to be removed and the leader refitted (see other posts on here about DLT tape leader issues)

Replace broken fan, but before you do that open up your computer while it's running, and make sure all of the fan connectors are snug.

ATL Superloader with LTO2 drive

The LTO family drives all support a tape-related diagnostic spec called TapeAlert, and if you use a software product that decodes it and can dump out all of the settings related to firmware, error logs, etc ... then I have no doubt it will provide root cause. Check out http://www.santools.com/smart/unix/manual (the code is also ported to windows. There are links for TapeAlert reporting) Or go to http://www.tapealert.org for info on the spec.

sounds like your robot is stuck or something may have dropped onto the track on the floor which is restricting it's movement.
