GE pss25ngnacc____refrigrato is to cold can't control tem

start by putting freezer control on half way on the numers. lets say it goes to ten set on five, do the same on refrig side . let run for 24 hrs. so it can stabalize. if it is ok in freezer and things are frozen and too cold in fridge side turn the refrig side to one smaller number. check again in 24 hrs. don't keep opening the door so that it can stabalize. if that doesnt work then it could be the cold control not senseing the temp of the refrig.

My refrig is freezing items on the refrig side.

likely a bad temperature control. also, some model GE's have a bad fresh food inlet cover, that fails to cutoff airflow from the freezer.

Freezer & freezer work fine. Water stops when refrige is set at 38 degrees. To keep water from freezing we have to set the refrige temp to 40 degrees, but find that temp not cold enough. Water can...

It may have auto-defrost or frost-free feature that is not operating. Also there is a drain tube that goes from the compartments to the bottom of the fridge where the evaporator pan is. The tube may be plugged.

The fridge gets very cold even when I turned down the temp to #1

You have air dampers in this fridge.
Adjust them to a warmer setting.
Look along the left wall down low beside the vegetable bins.
If this does not correct the problem you have electronic temp sensors that have gone bad.
A technician will be needed to determine that.
Keep your fingers crossed that the damper is too open.
Any adjustment will take 24 hours to be noticeable.

Its funny you posted this problem as I have just finished working on a built in ge with the exact same problem!
any way whats happening is the dampers that control the quick chill area of your refrig arent opening and closing properly causing subfreezing temps in the fresh food comparment. the parts need to repair your unit are the air handler WR31X10023 and seal WR60X10116 these parts are abot 300.00 dollars. I would recomend calling a good service company to repair this for you but if your mechanicly inclined you could do it yourself. the airhandler is the component behind the crisper drawers in the fresh food section of your refrig.
Hope this helps and please post back if you have any questions thanks Peyton

Our GE monogram refrig compartment is constantly below freezing.

2 possibilties most likely is a bad temp sensor it thinks its warmer in the refrig than it actually is. the next possibilty is a motherboard has gone bad in the unit.

Everything in the refrigerator is freezing

The 37 degree reading you're seeing is the temp. setting, not the present actual temp. When it jumps back to 22-25 its telling you what the actual temp is inside the refrig....simply wait about 24 hours. It should then read about 37...that is, the temp you set it at 24 hours previously.

its normal for the temperature to stay around 28 degrees farenheight int the bottom drawer. (fresh cut meat keeps better at his temp). you can adj the temp slide near the bottom of the refrig next to the botom drawer to help adj temp. veggies will almost always freeze in the bottom drawer. also adj the temp controls to a little bit warmer to help as well.

Keep in mind the mid point settings on your refrig is just a starting point for you to adj to where it works best for you and your usage..
