Hay matref1990 -- Somewhere on your furnace there is a sticker (usually on the bottom blower door) It will tell you what a 5 code is. When you find it you will know what the furnace is sensing the problem. You might want to check that and then rewrite another question here.

Do you have a hot surface ignitor or spark assist? I would focus on the ignition source. get back with me and I could help more. ken

Sounds like it it isn't the igniter but probably the pressure switch. You can only tell by the clicking noises as they system goes through it's safty checks prior to the call to the igniter.

Goes thru start up cycle and burner starts up but only stays on a short time and blower fan never turns off

New to wood furnace. Does the blower kick on automatically

Not sure what brand or model you have, but usually the fan wont come on until it heats up enough to close the fan switch which powers the blower

Will not turn up, furnace ran in morning not in evening

If it is a gas furnace it may be either the ignighter or the flame sensor. both are serviceable by the average person, but finding the parts not that easy. I got mine from a local wholesaler as they were more expensive on line.

How do I fix my electric heater

  • sounds like the sensor or bulb that tells it to start the blower is defective/ im not familiar with your unit but this seems the most logical answer most furnace will not turn the blower on right away usually 90 seconds after the ignition but will also run longer to exhume any dangerous carbon monoxide. Electricic heaters are different. What type of unit do you have

Electric Furnace stopped running

You have one of two problems. Either the capacitor for the motor has failed or the motor has failed. I would turn off the power to the unit and see if you can locate the capacitor and remove it. An ac supply or electrical supply house can match up the capacitor. This is relatively inexpensive. Otherwise you will need a new motor.

Is it cost effective to replace draft inducer blower on 22 year old furnace?

Depends on the cost to repair. Probably a 22 year old furnace is not very efficient also. Take every thing into consideration.
If it still works it may work for a while but you don't want a break down in the middle of winter.
