Here is the owner's manual for your DVD machine. This is a VHS recorder but not a DVD recorder. To record VHS tapes to DVDs, you will need a DVD recorder. You will plug the yellow video out connector on the VHS to the yellow 'Video in' connector on the DVD Recorder. Do the same for the red and white audio connections, out on the VHS, IN on the DVD Recorder. Connect your TV to the DVD recorder so you can see the picture you are recording.
i think the dvd reading details are gone or the softwere. it not reading the dvd films ive recorded on it.is there any softwere that i can download on dis to reprogram the infomation back in to the recorder
If you've lost your owner's manual documentation, you should be able to download and print a copy by visiting Sony's support page through the link I've provided below. Instructions on how to connect the player should be available mid-way through the manual.
In general, you want to run red, yellow, white (composite or a/v) cables from the out of your sat box to the in of the Magnavox. Then run a 2nd set of r,y,w cables from the out of the Magnavox to the in of the TV (there may be one or several places to plug it into TV). If your sat box is an HD sat box, you probably won't get it to work with this Magnavox. This unit was jointly manufactured with Funai corp, so you will have to call 1-800-605-8610 for tech support.
