Question about Frigidaire GLTF2940E Gallery 3.5 Cu. Ft. King Size Front Loading Washer
Sounds like your bearings are going bad. You can pull it apart and match them up at a bearing house or online. The manufacturer only sells the outer drum assembly with the bearings. $$$
I have more information if you are interested. Most front loader machines are very similar. There are several internet blogs about bearing replacement.
Make sure you buy the -2rs bearings. The main number can be something like 6307 but make sure you buy 6307-2rs. The -2rs bearings are sealed. The -2z bearings are only shielded. Not as good for water applications.

Yes, bearing, most definitely. It is a cheap part but difficult to replace.

SOURCE: Grinding Noise during spin and wash cycles but it' working ok
#1 issue have had with those as a repairman is the pump.the spot welds break and the pump rubs metal to metal also the belt can wear and flap.you can get somthing in the inner tub in those little holes[ie..nail]and when the tub moves it drags.to look at pump, belt motor pulley.tilt washer back .rest on wall and you can inspect all from there.God bless, tom

SOURCE: My model #gltr1670aso makes loud noises during spin cycle
Usually this is due to either the drum support breaking or the back bearing being bad-neither easy to fix- or worth it. Try lifting the drum up and down, if it moves up and down they are bad. I see this a lot, and the price of repair isn't worth it. Craig
