Normal 0 Web Camera’s have to besetup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up tobroadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order forthe Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:

After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
  4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able tosee and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.
Hopethis helps. Bud

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Sony vaio notebooks web cam is delayed or freezes onmsn

Is it only on MSN or also in other programs? If only MSN, try reinstalling MSN or try using an older version of MSN.
Maybe a webcam sharing program can also help.

Try using a webcam sharing application like SplitCam or SplitVideo. These programs allow you to share a webcam across applications, and can also help solve compatibility problems.

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
http://www.testmycam.com/
Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)
CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly. The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software. If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.
Open MSN Click 'Open Menu' From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup' Set your speakers Click 'Test' - if OK, move on. Set your mic as default Use the slider to set volume and test. Click 'Next' This takes you to the video setup Your webcam should be broadcasting - if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN

I have a Toshiba P200-RT2 laptop and I am trying to use my webcam on MSN and when I click to send my webcam invitation is says that my webcam is in use or not plugged in. I have tried signing on and off...

First go into control panel, click system and go to device manager. Make sure there are no conflicts when the web cam is plugged in. Is this webcam built into the laptop or via usb?
Thanks,
lee
