Question about Sony VAIO VGN-S460 Notebook
XP home edition
I think there is a partitioned area with the OS
I chatted with Sony and they told me to create a recovery media kit using the wizard but I can't find the recovery wizard.
I'm not an advanced user- cannot use dos unless someone walks me through it (I take direction well).
Hi Francine , no need to go to dos.
It's under Start > Help and Support. Scroll down and you'll see the recovery program hyperlink.
Here are instructions from their website. Interesting that they dont tell you HOW to launch the recovery wizard. Very helpful
Hope this helps.
Oh BTW , make sure you back up your data before using these recovery disks as they will overwrite your data.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
