Look close. Because the slots will be right next to each other. Most likly one on top of the other. It will be for sure close to the other slot though.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

HP 8710p says "plugged in,

This means there is either an issue with the charger, outlet, or plug. If you have tried restarting your computer and/or plugging in to different outlets, you may need to get another charger. If another one won't work, you'll have to get the port on your computer replaced. The Geek Squad at Best Buy can do this for a low price.

I have a HP NC6120 laptop and am tring to upgrade the RAM, I found one card slot, but, don't know where the second socket is. do you?

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

If the 2nd slot is not in the bottom of the laptop, then you will find it from under the keyboard.

According to HP specifications of the laptop the memory is Upgradeable to 2048-MB maximum (1024-MB SODIMM in slots 1 and 2) So yes the laptop does have two memory slots. It will be under the keyboard.

Please let me know if you require further assistance or if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ekse

Problem with blu-ray on compaq 8710p

To play a Blu-ray movie on your computer, there are several things you will need in addition to having a Blu-ray drive. Blu-ray requires fairly robust hardware for smooth playback. Blu-ray also requires software with the right Codecs for playing Blu-ray disks. Also your video card needs to be HDCP compliant in order for Blu-ray playback to work. Which I would assume it is? So get the right Codecs. Also have a look here for a bit of a "Heads Up" http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/236297-49-free-media-player-codec

Cannot download MP4 files from a website to my lap top.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is keep trying, as many people don't seed for long enough which in turn makes your download hang, Or choose a different program to download from.

Your Compaq Notebook nx6110 has 2 banks of 1 socket each for a total of 2 memory sockets.
One is under the keyboard. Here is the user guide, read page 5-26 in the manual(page 137 in the reader)
