Question about Phil & Teds E3 - Sand Twin Seat Jogger Stroller

1 Answer

We folded down our phil & teds pushchair so it locks into pplace, with the front wheel turned. but now we can't unlock it back to put it back up again. we have tried clicking in the grey plastic bits at the sides, pressed every button but nothing works. we have done this before but somehow pressed something & it unlocked and the front wheel dropped back down to put the pushcahir back up. please help as my pushcahir still folded and can't unfold it.

I presume you have this sorted this by now! but for anyone else reading this.

When it is down push down on the handle then press the grey button. It should open.

Phil and ted vibe, wont lock and front wheel issues

The Vibe is very fussy to fold and has driven me up the wall on a few occaisions. To get it to lock when folded, the handlebar must be in the fully raised position - I think that is the secret. (The basket should also empty - we keep the raincover in there and it can obstruct when folding.) As for going round in circles, perhaps check that both rear wheels are inflated to the same pressure - but there's no doubt that the front wheel has a mind of its own, particularly at slow speeds or when starting off. Hope this is of some help.

Once I've folded my phil & ted vibe (in single mode) the locking clips won't fold into place (I've used as much force as I dare -- worried I might break the clips if I try any harder). This makes it...

When folding the Vibe some important things to remember are that the handlebar must be in the most upright position (perpendicular to the ground), nothing can be below the rear axle level (ie. lift the basket up above this) and the front single wheel should have the side with the attachment bar on the outside.
The fold locks will not engage if everything is not in the correct position. If everything is in the correct position the fold locks will easily engage/disengage. If everything is NOT in the correct position the fold locks will not engage and should not be forced.

Folding:
  1. Put handle bar in upright position.

  2. Undo the side lock clips. Then you lift the red lever on the side to start the fold. Fold so that the pram front wheel and handle come together.

  3. As the pram folds ensure basket is above rear axle and the front wheel has the attachment bar on the outside.

  4. When the pram is fully folded you can fold the side lock clips back in place.

I cannot unfold my Phil adn Teds Sport

Take off the front wheel, this allows the buggy to fold a bit tighter and lock. You now should be able to push the grey button to unlock it.

I can't fold the buggy down!

First you need to make sure that the handle bar is in the top most position. Next the Front wheel needs to be turned sideways as you begin to lower/fold the buggy.   You must also watch the basket part so that it folds up and in so that it doesn't get stuck. I usually will also fold it forward and down so that I know the wheel and basket are in the right position.  When it is finally down it should clip into place. Hope that helps a little. :)

Wobbly front wheel

My Maclaren pushchair's front wheel has the same problem although I have used it for nearly a year. The staff of Mothercare shop suggested me to order the spare. However, it will cost us up to £30 while the pushchair cost only £80. I am thinking about buying a new pushchair, not Maclaren of course.

Stuck in folded position Phil and teds classic stroller

We have a new Phil & Teds Classic -- same problem. Solution #2 worked for us. Pushing down on the black bars while pressing the grey button was the solution. Not sure why this is necessary to make the silver button line up with the grey button, but it is. Engaging the brake did not seem to make any difference.
