This is a defect that has been occuring more and more with touch's across the world. apple has recognized this issue and they are providing replacement ipod's for those that are still under warranty. I would suggest contacting either the retailer or the manufacturer and informing them. downside is you have to make an appt. either at an applke store or with a technical support technician for your ipod. they are the only ones that can authorize a warranty exchange and trust me this issue does qualify. anyways hope this helps ya out.

White screen when turn on

Try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.

If this doesn't work, try restoring the iPod from within itunes.

First thing to try is a reset

To reset your iPod:
  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Maybe you should reset your ipod by pressing both the menu button and the power button. If this doesn't work I'm really sorry.
