It could be a malfunction in the USB Wireless Card. Try reinstalling your software. Or updating your software. It might also be a compatibility issue if your using windows vista.

You problem is the USB Device than. There could be nothing else wrong. If it's installed... It shoud work. Try this, change USB ports that your plugging it into. This might help because of an IO error.

How do i make my D2522 wireless?

Basically the simple way is to add a USB WLAN Adapter. Install the driver and use it.

The more complicated way is open the PC and add a PCIe WLAN card.

With my Dell precision 670 the USB ports do not initailze

You can try updating the bios firmware but more than likely it's a hardware problem since you've experienced it with two separate operating systems.

If you've got one usb port that works really well you can get a powered usb hub and that will "solve" some of your problems.

How do you install wireless usb adaptor

A wireless USB adapter is a simple device that connects to an open USB port on your computer or laptop, allowing you to connect wirelessly to a network that is within range. They come with different connection speeds, ranges and security protection allowing you to connect to the Internet and use email servers, without complicated setups. Installing USB adapters to a computer is a simple task that anyone can perform. With just a few steps, you can access wireless networkmag-glass_10x10.gif where there is one.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions
  1. Step 1 Research around before purchasing a wireless USB adapter. There are many different networking companies such as Belkin, Netgear and Linksys (see links in Resources). Compare prices and features such as speed in megabytes per second (mbps). Look for wireless USB adapters with a compliance of IEEE 802.11b or IEEE 802.11g. These options give you increased security on your network.
  2. Step 2 Plug your purchased USB into a USB port on your computer. Depending on the chosen model, you may have an installation CD. Place your installation CD into the CD-ROM on your computer, and follow the setup instructions to install the wireless USB drivers. Some adapters will install automatically.
  3. Step 3 Locate the wireless icon on the lower right of your computer screen. If there is an "X" marked on it, use the manual that comes with your purchased wireless USB adapter to configure it properly. The wireless icon usually lights up when a wireless connection point is detected.

I need to reinstall my wireless internet driver

1. go to the manufacturer of your wireless card adapter
2. dowload the latest driver for your wireless adapter matching the operating system you're using.
3. uninstall the driver by going to start>right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager> go into network adapters>right click the network adapter for which you want to reinstall the driver and click uninstall (you may want to restart your computer). when you do the new hardware wizard may come up and you may want to do either one this:
a. if your wireless adapter is a usb adapter: unplug it, run the driver installation file you download in step 1 and 2 and replug the usb adapter as directed.
b. if your wireless adapter is a pci card: you can run the installation driver file you download or you may want to manually install the driver using the add new hardware that came up when you restart your computer and point to the folder where the driver is (cd or driver you download from internet)

We have windows XP desk top. Can't install the drivers for the DWA-111 but the router works fine.

What specific error message/s does your computer prompt when you trying to install the wireless USB adapter? Since your running Windows XP you can skip on "run the CD first", try uninstalling all the componets for the adapter then restart the computer, when the computer is booted up properly insert the USB adapter(preferably used the USB port on the back of your desktop for maximum power). When the found new hardware wizard pops up, choose install software automatically(make sure that the setup CD for the USB adapter is already loaded on the CD-ROM drive then hit next.
If the installation proceeds click on finish a bubble should appear on the lower right hand side of your dekstop screen(syatem tray) prompting you that one or more wireless network is being detected, click the baloon and check if your network will show up on the list.
