Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD105F Laser Printer

After re-filling the cartridge, some the ink getting inside the copier. I took both the cartridge and the drum part out and cleaned them off with a cloth of the excessive ink. I wiped the round drum part with the cloth now there is no image on paper after I try to make a copy. I don't know if I could have damaged the drum section of this copier or if the cartridge is not working properly. If the drum section is damaged, would this be a sign of that kind of damage. I don't want to buy both a new drum part and a cartridge.

The drum should never be touched with anything; the surface is sensitive in the extreme and I suspect you have finished it off. 
The refilling of the toner cartridge isn't really a DIY job on this unit.
Yes, it will cost a few dollars but it's either this or a new unit. Although now retired, I had very good service from Precision Roller and I can recommend them highly:

A 1/4 inch stripe of magenta ink runs down the side of all pages printed.


Hi ,
Dirty print out is mostly due to cartridge related issues. In this case it seems that magenta is the issue. Take out the cartridge and clean its drum/ (green roller) with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. The drum is located under a cover. Checkout for any spilled toner inside the printer and clean it also. Print a few pages so that the parts get further cleaned. I think, this would solve the issue.

Moreover, streaks (thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located just behind the green drum inside the cartridge. Try cleaning it or replacing the Magenta Cartridge. If required, get the PCR Roller changed by a professional.

Warning: Do not leave the ink cartridges outside of the cartridge carriage for more than a half hour, as the ink will begin to dry.

what copier is it? please specify brand and model? line is usually either created by main charger or cleaning blade

Poor and inconsistent quality from the black ink.


the problem seems to be un-even distribution of ink. try a different and new ink cartridge. Since you are refilling the cartridge, the ink inside of the cartridge is getting magnetized, there by, the ink stick to the drum of the cartridge and don't distribute the ink evenly. shake would clear it. you need to demagnetized the drum.

You have a defective toner cartridge, drum should be clean when you looked at it, the blade is failing. Is the cartridge remanufactured (or compatible)? Although they usually work well (depending on the supplier) there are sometimes defects

DRUM ERROR


  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the Options key on the control panel.
    The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
  3. Press 1 to reset the drum count.
  4. Close the front cover.
It happens because Brother decide that we are morons and cannot figure out when a drum is dead and so they make the printer refuse to work after a certain amount of time. This resets their dummy counter.

Copies come out with splotches


replace the drum. take out toners and clean inside real good. check your exit rollers to see if they have any ink on them. be sure you use genuine hp products.

Brother DCP 130C not printing magenta and yellow


after replacing the ink cartridges it took several cleans to come good. I have no idea how to "manually" clean the heads. So I told the printer to do it many (about 7) times. It eventually worked
