The mp3 player is frozen once it turns on. Keeps on saying refreshing your media.

Press and hold the power button. Hold it long enough (10 to 15 seconds ) it will eventually turn the frozen player off. Press the power button again to turn it back on. You can try formatting the player again either through windows media player or (if a v2 model) through the player's own menu system. Failing that, put the player in MSC mode and format it from Windows Explorer. I would also update the firmware. I have attached the link to the Sansa site to find the firmware and further instructions.
Thanks for using FixYa.

It is getting stuck while refreshing the database.

Depending on the amount of the data or music files you have on your device, "Refreshing Database" may take a while to finish. But if you feel it's frozen you may try the following steps:
Reset the device 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player. NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.
Delete recently loaded files 1. Connect the device to the PC in MSC mode using force MSC. 2. Locate and delete recently added files. 3. Disconnect the device from the PC.
If this resolves the issue, proceed to STEP 3. Otherwise, format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.

PLEASE RESET USING THE RESET PIN PRESENT IN THE SIDE.
AND FORMAT THE PLAYER . if this dosen't work your player is faulty
