Question about Magic Chef 9815 Electric Single Oven
Whenever I use my oven, the top of my electric stove gets very hot-I actually burned my fingers on one of the coils 30 minutes after I turned the oven off. This burner had not been turned on all day. The stove is 20 years old, is it time to replace it? This has just started-does anyone have a answer?
I suspect this may have been happening for quite some time and you may never have noticed it. MANY ovens vent near one of the stove eyes. If you lift the cooktop for 'servicing', I bet you see the little vent. It is usually in the back right underneath the cooking surface. Check to make sure it is not blocked, clogged or has rusted out/off.
