When I purchased my Canon I-sensys 4370dn all-in-one lazer Printer was under the impression that I could do network scanning as the specs say ''Network ready'' I now discover this is not so. Is there anyway that I can upgrade to be able to scan on the network. Having to attach the scanner via USB in an office of four computers is NOT the solution I want
Actually, Omnipage should be included on the CD that came with the unit. If (and I mean if) scangear installs correctly AND locates your 4370dn on the network, it will install itself as a shim TWAIN driver. After the installation of Omnipage, you will need to do a scanner setup and identify the scangear shim as the scanner you intend to work with. After that, Omnipage should work just fine using your 4370dn on the network.
Word of warning: I've had a lot of trouble with scangear if it doesn't install correctly or locate your device on the network. For whatever reason, sometimes it just doesn't want to cooperate sometimes and seemingly nothing you do will convice it that your device is alive and well on the network (including continous ping to the device and/or opening the web interface while installing). This is particularly true for Win64.
