Question about Lexmark X2500 All-In-One Printer

We are trying to install a lexmark 3430. looks like install worked,but as we tried to run test print; we recieved error msg. stating printer ca'nt be detected. what can we do to solve this problem?

Uninstall printer and printer programs. Go to this site download and reinsall program/driver.

Error msg: Unable to print It states to refer to


Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage.
Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

How do I hook up my lexmark 3430. I can not find


okie first of all click on to start and then go to control pannel and then go to printer and faxes and then click on to add printer .then it would ask you to put the driver cd into the computer ,put the driver cd into the computer and then the computer would start installing the driver and after the driver is installed your printer will start working .if it doesnot work write me an email with your phone number and i will try to help you out on the same ,

Wont print, no error msg


You have no choice...Be patient...Try to uninstall and install your printer driver.I hope this could help.

Have lexmark 5070 printer getting error msg saying ccomputer not communicating with printer tried unplugging everything usb, printer


It seems there is a possibility of a problem with the printer itself, or perhaps the cartridges. You should first self-test the printer. Since we are unsure where the problem exists, we must do eliminative troubleshooting to rule out parts of the printing system. The self-test allows us to rule out software and the cable by testing the hardware by itself. Please note that this is not a "fix," but rather a diagnostic test to determine if your hardware is at fault.

Please disconnect and then reconnect the power supply on the printer and make sure it makes a setup noise when the cable is reattached. Will the printer perform a form feed with paper loaded when the purple/silver button is pressed?

Next, I'd like you to attempt this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Press the "Settings" button on the printer.
2. Press the checkmark button when you see "Maintenance" on the display. 3. Press the right or left arrow key until you see "Print Test Page," then press the checkmark button.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault. The issue may be a communication problem, or perhaps a software conflict.

However, please let us know the windows operating system installed on the computer.(Windows XP / 2K / NT, Windows Vista, Mac)

I have the Lexmark 3430. Print and copy works but it will not scan.


Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Lexmark 3430) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Unable to print


With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue

Lexmark x1185 cartridge error msg


Step 1). Try cleaning the gold contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer itself with a pen eraser and a little alcohol.

Step 2). Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it.

Step 3). If the above two steps fail try a new cartridge. If none of these solutions work there is an electronic problem with the printer and it will have to be professionally diagnosed or replaced.

Ok it seems to me that your Driver may be corrupted... try a complete un-install of ya printer... go to the Lexmark web site and download the latest driver for win2K, and install it... This may get ya good to go :)

As an aside can you try the printer on another machine? if ya can install the drivers on another machine, and see if thats OK, it is possible the Printer has a "Hard" fault? just a thought.

what kind do you have, cancel the print job. turn printer off, check to ink, take it out and shake it put it back in. start printer, let it run thue it's thing. then try to print. The ink maybe out.
