Hooking up USB adaptor to internal hard drive on desktop

you can try removing the casing very carefully and then plugging it into a desktop computer.

This is an old machine. It comes with all the adaptors to hook the 1/4" water line to the faucet. You need to remove the arator from the faucet to hook it up and use the adaptors to match your faucet.

Sometimes, I've gotten the drive to work after taking it out of the external case, and hooking it up to a computer as an internal drive. You can access the actual drive manufacturer's site for configuration info.

What exactly are you having trouble with? I have a 5000 series Presario. Did you get an exact replacement power supply? Check the plugs to make sure.

There should be a mother board connector that will only go on one way (if yours is split, they will still only attach one way), the Molex and mini Molex are for the drives.

Try hooking it up to a different USB port. Go to computer on the start menu and see if your computer sees it. Try restarting your computer with the hard drive already connected and turned on, the computer may recognize it then.

u can get a usb adaptor for your hard drive.

You can hook two computers together using a crossover cable. They may have them at radio shack, if not you can find one on the web for cheap. Then you can put the install in one cd and have it install in the other computer.

- Start > Run > type ‘regedit’ (without the speachmarks) > Enter
- Single-click on ‘My Computer’ > File > Export > save it to the Desktop (Always best to have a backup!!)
- Go to the following:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDeviceP olicies

*There seems to be some spaces here in 'StorageDevicePolicies' in the text above, there shouldn't be, OK*
- Double click on the string ‘WriteProtect’ and change the ‘Value Data’ box to ‘0’
- Then: File > Export > save somewhere useful as something like ‘StorageDevicePolicies001.reg’
- You also need to do this for the strings in any folders called ‘ControlSet***’ (* = any Digit, i.e. 001, 002) – for example: Everything is the same, just change ‘CurrentControlSet’ to ‘ControlSet***’
