Question about Thermador PC36 36 in. Gas Cooktop
Our Thermador gas cooktop, 5 burner, about 10 years old, exploded when I was boiling water for tea, There was a loud pop like a gun firing and all the knobs flew off and scattered around the kitchen. The burner was still lit. There was an odd burning type of smell. but we cou;dn't really detect any gas smell. This happened twice. Has this ever happened before?
I would say that pop was one of you igniters. either that or the stove is not installed correctly and when it gets warm, thermal expansion makes the metal pop. I would say that I would use caution and discontinue its use. Most problems with these need to fixed professionally.
