This is normal - it is cooled on demand to save battery power.

As the graphics card or processor get more work - it heats up. The fan kicks in to higher speed to cool to a preset temp - then shuts down.

Try cleaning the laptop fan / vents with some compressed air. It's better to take the laptop keyboard off so that you can blow the air from the inside out.

Also check to see if there is an updated bios firmware for your laptop. Updates usually address problems like fans spinning too high or too low.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Best of luck!

This sound is normal if you are using a graphics or cpu intensive program. Your system uses a variable speed fan that is controlled by the motherboard so it will speed up & slow down as required. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Memory Upgrade for Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop, the Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop takes the PC2100 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.

My sony pcg-k35 laptop needs a new keyboard. Where can I get a new keyboard?

ebay's the cheapest place to get one, usually.

K35 keyboards on eBay

They're all pretty pricey right now so I would suggest checking every few days until one is up for AUCTION, not Buy-it-now.

Best of luck!

Sony pcg-k35 cleaning

I had to figure this out not long ago.
First you need to pry up the piece of plastic trim that covers the speakers at the top of the keyboard.
Next romove the screws that hold in the keyboard. they will all be along the top of the keyboard.
Once that is out of the way. Remove the screws that secure the metal sheild plate and remove the plate.
You can now see the two fans. If you follow the air ducting from the fans there will be some peices of a tape like material that once pulled back will give you access to the airway to the cooling fins. This is were you will use compressed air to blow out dust build up.
It is also a good idea to clean the fan blades.
Once this done, replace the tape covers and reassemble.
I hope this helps because I couldnt find any info on this on the web.
