Reinstall the chipset driver of off the motherboard cd.

This should also help with any other on board devices.

When i install the xp cd in my hcl b23 C2D laptop, the problem shown like this. setup did not find any hard disk installed in your computer\r\nhow to slove?

verify that the hard drive is seen in the system bios. If it is not, disconnect and reconnect the hard drive then try again...the drive must be recognized by the computer for windows to see it. If the hard drive is definitely seen by the system, check to see if the manufacturer of your system offers serial ATA drivers for the system. Load the driver on a floppy disk, boot to windows CD, press f6, load driver, continue with installation.

Sandisk micro 2 gb not recognised on win xp laptop works on other machines. pls help

Sometimes windows XP doesn't install the driver to recognize your USB ports. For example, a fresh install of XP does not contain any driver for sound or graphics. The best way is to update your windows XP up to Service Pack 3 by installing SP1 and SP2... etc, it will take a looooooooong time, but your PC would be better.
To check whether or not you have any USB drivers install just go to control panel and then device manager. Look for Universal Serial Bus (USB)

Comm 1/ no serial ports not responding.

Ok, if the hard drive already had Windows XP on it, it has the configuration for the computer it came out of.  you need to reinstall windows xp with the hard drive in your computer so it can properly detect all the ports that your computer has.

Epson LX-300 can't print

Check your parallel port settings on the XP computer. Compare these setting with the settings on the computer where the printer works. If you are using serial port for printing, then check the serial port settings.
