If the lid switch comes apart it is not repairable.
Only replaceable.
p.s. duct tape does not count.

What company manufactured lid switch PS350434 FOR WHIRLPOOL WASHER

3949247 is the actual part number for that lid switch, and you won't find a blow out of the thing taken apart because its a molded part and not designed to come apart/

Food was spilled on the stovetop and dripped over the front of the range, where it seeped in between the double paned window. There is now a streak on the inside of the window. Short of taking the door...

I would take it apart and clean it myself. After all someone put that door together in the first place. I don't think that it would mess anything up because there isn't any electrical in the door and as long as you put it back the same way it came apart it will be just fine. Take pictures as you go so you don't forget anything along the way. Good luck!!!!

Won't spin and drain

check the switch for the lid. the machine will not spin or drain if it thinks the lid is open. use a screwdriver or ink pen to push on the little lever. the lid has a small stick of some sort sticking out. the lever is in the hole that the stick normally goes into. the lever should click each time. if not, replace it. good luck

Lid switch assembly

go to www.searspartsdirect.com for a picture of this units lid switch.it doesnt show it very well, but it will give you an idea of how it goes back together.
what you need to do is put the lever around the switch first, then put the plastic box on the switch and arm. then carefully hold the assembly together and try to get it under the top and put the 2 screws back into the housing holes.
it sounds simple but i have done this before and its not easy. you just need to be careful to get the screws into the mounts correctly or it wont hold together to allow the switch to activate when the lid is closed.
by the way was there a reason you took the switch off??
maybe because it wont spin?
by the way this unit is not 30 years old, maybe 20 at the most.
the drive couplings are a weak spot for these and you may have a broken one. it wont spin or agitate but will drain if this is broken.

How do I reassemble On/Off switch?

The actual switch will not fall apart. There is a black part that is integral with the switch itself. This is about 1/4" to 3/8" wide, and can only be seen from inside the unit. Then there is a plastic piece that is part of the top shell. The hole in the plastic piece has to fit over the black part of the switch, so when the plastic piece is moved, the switch on the inside of the unit will move with it. SO, center both parts, and put them together. If you actually took the switch itself apart, you would have needed a soldering iron, and there would be no purpose for doing this.
