You probably have a broken belt, which is a common problem. If you are comfortable with using a screwdriver, you can change the belt yourself and save the cost of a service call. The belt itself is around $20, and you can get it from local appliance parts stores or from a number of places online.

One site with a very good illustrated procedure for changing the belt is here:

If you found this solution to be what you needed, please take a moment to rate it (fixyas are nice!), and thanks for asking here!

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Whirlpool Dryer, Heats up, but will not spin.

Thermal fuse , is the small white plastic piece on the blower box . That , keeps the dryer from running . Thermal cut-off , is the small thermostat on the burner (element) box , which would keep the dryer from heating .

Drier was working O.k . Timmer Stop working And so did the Heating. Does the Timmer control Temperature aswell.?

Yes, if the timer mech is damaged and, it will not rotate, this is cause the heating cycle to become inoperable. the time is responsible for initiating the heating command and the thermostat helps with the temp regulations. replacing the timer will restore the normal functions of your dryer.
