Generally this points to a missing Operating System or a bad HDD (hard drive) that isn't being detected by the PC or has been damaged beyond repair.

Try to enter the BIOS and see what it says for what HDDs and whether it detects the HDD at all. If it doesn't detect any drive, check the cables in your PC and ensure everything is plugged in firmly to both the motherboard/power supply and the HDD itself.

If the HDD is detected but not booting still, it might be a corrupt operating system or a bad HDD. You may need to use diagnostic utilities such as DFT (Drive Fit Test) to diagnose the HDD prior to reinstalling the operating system.

Bought a Fugitsu T4020D with a broken screen at a yard sale. Fixed the screen but it is password locked at BIOS, and before Windows loads. How can I unlock the BIOS to get into this thing?

1. Bypass Windows 7 Logon Password with Command Prompt While computer couldn't boot normally or notebook is infected with Trojans or malware, you can get rid of them by starting computer in Windows Safe Mode. Furthermore, when lost or forgot Windows password, you can also bypass Windows 7 logon password easily in Safe Mode.
In Windows 7, there are 3 different types of safe modes to choose, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking and Safe Mode with Command Prompt. And the following guide is about how to bypass Windows login password with Command Prompt in Safe Mode. With net user command in Windows safe mode, you can reset Windows password effectively. Details as follows:
Step 1: Start or restart your Windows 7 computer.
Step 2: Press F8 to enter Advanced Boot Options before the Windows 7 loading screen appears.
Step 3: Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt in the coming screen, and then press Enter.
Step 4: Wait for Windows 7 files loading until Windows login screen comes up.
Step 5: Log in Windows with an administrator account until you see login screen.
Step 6: A Command Prompt appears. Type net user in the Command Prompt and then hit Enter. All Windows user accounts will be listed for you.
Step 7: Type net user iSunshare 12345 and hit Enter.
Note: "iSunshare" is your locked Windows user account name. And "12345" means the new password you want to reset for the locked account. User account "iSunshare" will be reset with new password "12345".
Step 8: The new password has been successfully reset for user when the command is completed successfully.
Step 9: Login Windows 7 PC with the new password.
Whenever you need to access Windows in Safe Mode, an administrator account password is necessary. So it is highly recommended that write down Windows password and store it or creating a Windows password recovery disk before Windows password lost.

Acer Aspire 3610

How far does it get in booting. Do you see the Windows screen with the side scrolling bar before it reboots. During the boot process, start hitting the F8 key once a second until it drops you into a menu where you can select to start in Windows with safe mode. If you cant get that far, hit the DEL key a few times a soon as you boot the computer to try to go into your BIOS. If you can get into either of these, I may be able to help you.

Mercury mother bord not loding satup manu with all f key and 'del' stop in start screen

1) Look at the bottom of the Mercury logo screen when it comes up.

2) Memorize or write down the -> enter BIOS Setup, or enter CMOS Setup key.

3) Restart the computer.

Let it go to Windows, then Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart.

Won't go to Windows? Hold down the CTRL and ALT and DELete keys AT THE SAME TIME. This will restart your computer.

AS SOON AS the monitor screen goes blank, (Windows is restarting), tap on the enter BIOS Setup key repeatedly.
Tap in 2 second intervals.

Hear a series of beeps? They are Stuck Key Error Code beeps, and you are causing them. Ignore the beeps.

Computer is off?

AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on the enter BIOS Setup (CMOS Setup) key.

The enter BIOS Setup window goes by F-A-S-T. The above method/s will get you into BIOS Setup.

My dg31pr gets stuck on bios screen and no matter how many times i restart it it keeps getting stuck there.if i m lucky after an hour or so it starts.i really need help with this problem.my pc has 500 gb...

Hi.

Fisrt of all remove the 2 external hard drives from the computer, boot the computer up and see if it still hangs on the post information screen.
If it doesn't then the BIOS has a problem detecting the externals thus why its hanging on the BIOS.

If it still hangs try to completely reset the BIOS either by putting the plastic jumper in the "on" possition and turning the computer on. The jumper is located to the left hand side of the "Front Header" (power switch, reset etc) or remove the power cord from the rear of the computer and then take out the motherboard battery and leave it out for 20 minutes.

That should clear the CMOS and reset the BIOS and stop it hanging on the post screen. Remember that once you have done this you will need to set the date and time.

Regards.

I cannot logon to my PC

Start your PC in safe mode, to do this repeatedly tap the F8 key as soon as you turn the power on. This will then bring up an "options" screen listing boot in safe mode, safe mode with network support etc. Just use safe mode. If it goes directly to windows instead - shut it off and try again til u get the safe mode screen. The arrow keys control the selection to choose. When it starts in safe mode a black screen will usually appear with a bunch of writing, this is normal, after that it may "hang" for as long as 5 minutes, before coming up with a login screen. Sometimes hitting enter or escape will bring up the login screen faster. When you have a login screen, login and disable the updates using the software control options for the software that is trying to update. You might also go to control panel, administrator options, then services and disable automatic updates temporarily. When your pc starts in safe mode - it starts with minimal drivers and does not run updates- this allows you to change settings. You can then reboot normally and it should start properly without updating before starting.

Error code at startup

Re: windows Vista will not start I had the same problem and came across this solution that worked for me as well: 18 Aug 2009 07:28PM I was getting a the same error codes and couldn't get Windows to boot up at all. I went to BIOS set up (restart your computer and hit F12 when the BIOS screen comes up), went to onboard devices and changed the SATA Operations from ACHSI (don't know how it got there) to the factory default setting ATA. Then I started up in "repair mode" (which was an option that was coming up when I tried to boot up before but never worked) - it went through a repair check and went to login screen.
Prior to finding this - I tried several things including start up from the Reinstallation disc, but nothing worked. I was ready to buy a new hard drive, but don't have to. Works fine!
Not sure what caused the problem to start with. It is an "Inspiron 1520"

Limited User access will not open files in software program

boot into safe mode on xp. when you start the computer and the bios screen comes up start tapping the F8 key. it should take you to the boot selection screen. press your arrow keys to get to the selection "Windows Safe Mode" and press enter. when xp loads the login screen, there should be an admin account now. use that account to set users access to admin rights.
if you dont want that user to have admin rights but still start software that requires admin rights, try this. right-click on the program. go to run as... and choose administrator.

please let me know if this helped you :)
