I have an RCA HD52W59, and the convergence is crooked. What I mean is, after I set the convergence through the onscreen menu, the blue & red are crooked across the screen. On the left side, the blue is slightly above the other two, then matches up in the middle. The red is fine on the left side of the screen, but about 1/8-1/4" below on the right side of the screen, creating a shadow effect. They all appear to line up perfectly in the middle of the screen. Help?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

If your looking in the rear of the set on the far left side you will see a large black HV transformer that has a large red wire coming from its top. Thats the flyback transformer look directly to the right of that and you will see three small brown rectangles with FL221, FL231 and FL251 stamped on it. The center one is FL231 if thats blown the set will have a 3D look and the auto convergence feature will no longer be listed under the setup menu.
if you need to know where the convergence settings are you click menu then setup and then convergence. I have the same tv as you and the picture looks like its 3d with red and green and the words on menu are doubled and I tried auto converge and it didnt work. If you figure it out let me know. it also might be a fuse.
When you say replaced the convergence twice, are you refering to the convergence boards or the FL231 fuse? If its the FL231 fuse unless you replaced the DL231 and CL230 plus reflowed the solder on the flyback it will continue to keep blowing untill the 3 parts are replaced together and the flyback gets resoldered. If you replaced the convergence boards then try resoldering the flyback.
Convergence settings are internal to the set on a circuit board somewhere. If you do not have a service manual for this set and some rather expensive equipment, it is unlikely you would be able to restore convergence.
Normally, convergence does not drift unless some electrolytic capacitors have aged to the point that they cannot maintain high enough voltage.
This means that, even if you could find the pots that control the convergence, they would not be able to restore convergence.
The inside of a projection TV has DANGEROUS high voltages that can persist for WEEKS after the set is turned off. We are talking HEART ATTACK voltages.
You should have your set repaired by a qualified (insured) service technician.
Your set doesnt have STK ICs. If the convergence adjustment option has disappeared from the on screen menu, then replace FL231, DL231 and CL230 If the adjustment option hasnt disappeared from the menu then you need to check the resistors on the convergence power supply board some of those will be open. The actual convergence Board will usually not develope problems just the Convergence power supply if the convergence adjustment option is still in the on screen menu.
this set is rather difficult to converge.. sometimes almost impossible. technicians ussally have to service mode align these set.. very time consuming and one wrong button will cause even more problems... i have spent HOURS manualy converging. Techs also use a special computer interface called "chipper cheacker" we ussally charge about 100 to do this
what is your problem ....convergence? yes on these set which i like to call your value sets unless the problem is minor there not worth repair..these set cost 800 at walmart average repair is 205 dollars to 400...convergence could be as simple as fuse or as complicate as 3 different cuicit board and setup is very hard. DO you have a convergence otption in setup. does the crosshairs move in setup... is the set completely without convergence? is piture bowed at top and bottom
The service # is hd52w59 and then something like yx1 or etc..... On the model # tag, this is written in very small writing. There is no way to remove the convergence option. Go to menu the set up and there you should find convergence. Choose convergence and run auto converge. If this does not work then there is a failure on the convergence power supply, convergence amp, or the deflection/power bd.
