Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
I can wash but it wont spin
This could be a number of things:
It could be that the lid switch is fried. If you have a meter, you can test it.
In the Whirlpool/Kenmore washers, it is common for the lid plunger to stop making contact with the lid switch. Use a pen to manually press the lid switch actuator to test this.
If your washer is a belt-drive, the spin solenoid may be fried, or may have cut wires. Give a gentle tug on the wires and see if they are intact.
It could be that the drive belt is worn out. Examine it for glazing on the sides of the belt or cracks in the power side of the belt.
If it is a direct drive washer, it may just be a worn direct drive coupler.
