HI
COMPAQ 610, ALL MY DIFFERENT OPERATING SYSTEM CD (WIN XP PROF) DON'T WANT TO BOOT. MY LAPTOP WAS BUSY UPDATING, WHEN I SHUT DOWN IT. AFTER 3HOURS THE "NTLDR is missing" APPEARS. I ENABLED AND DISABLED THE WHOLE TIME CD-ROM FROM BIOS TO BOOT FROM ANY XP OR LINUX DISC. IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE LAPTOP OR HARD DRIVE.
PLEASE E-MAIL ME IMMEDIATELY AT denverfbfan@hotmail.com.
THANK YOU,

You need to access the BIOS setup, on Compaq I believe it is F10, and change the first boot drive to the CD drive.

I need to know how to put windows xp in my compaq evo n610c can anyone help me thanks mom_4life1990@yahoo.com

If you have a recovery disc that came with the computer then you'll just need to boot from it. Now if you don't have a copy of the recovery disc, some computers come with recovery installation from hidden partitions on their hard drive. you'll might need to press on '0' (zero) to boot from the hidden partition and start the recovery.

In case you don't have either of the two, you'll have to purchase a retail copy of Windows XP and boot from the CD by changing the boot sequence from the BIOS. After booting from the CD, it will ask you some simple questions on the installation process and you should be good to go.
