Question about Leisure HOMEPRIDE Electric Fireplace Heater w/ Remote

Heat n Glo electric fireplace w/remote just stop working.

It was working fine until recently I tried turning it on and it attempted to come on then it just stopped. It don't appear to be getting power. Is there a fuse behind the panel that may need to be replaced? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Throw it out on the street when a bus runs over it file for insurance and get a new one. tell the insurance company you where having a city bonfire in your front yard and the bus jumped the curb. You know city slicker folk in those tall buildings don't know any better.

I have a heat & Glo XLR Plus. This is the first time I have used it but when I turn it on, the flame burns for around 30 sces then goes out. Then after about 30 secs it comes back on.. then off and so...

On your hand held remote [check your remote's owners manual], there is a mode setting for thermostat. This allows your remote to act as the thermostat for the room. It is in this mode and the temperature is set close to the current room temperature. Turn this mode off. Do not use this mode. Obviously you do not have the required experience to use it. It will come on and off even when you are not home. Again, until you become a lot more familiar with the setting, turn it off.

Smart stat 2 fireplace remote chirps similar to a smoke alarm. batteries have been replaced twice. Chirps at the receiver which is a plug in style no batteries. The beep can be stopped for a few hours by...

The chirping has nothing to do with your fireplace or electrical. The Smart Stat II remote is for use on a millivolt system only. The receiver sends out a signal every 15 minutes. If it can't find the hand held remote, it will chirp. The hand held must be within a 15 foot range. There were some issues with the remotes back in 2009, I believe. They were faulty and would chirp for no reason. They were covered under warranty for one year. In my opinion, these remotes are not as good as they should be. A TV remote lasts for years without missing a beat and has a better response rate. I've seen these replaced up to three times a year. At $229 a pop, hmmmmmm. You be the judge. Sorry for the side track. Move the hand held closer to the fireplace. The decorative front that is on the fireplace can also interfere with the signal as the receiver is under the fireplace and the metal front can stop the signal. Either pull the receiver out from underneath and set on the hearth or just pull it closer to the front to keep hidden. Another issue with low voltage systems is dirty connections. If your wall switch or remote just suddenly stops working, try unplugging all connections and reconnect. Being low voltage, any bit of corrosion will prevent it from completing the circuit. Gas fireplaces are not difficult to work on or maintain. Just use common sense. There is a 110v outlet underneath to power the fan and any kind of electronic ignition there may be. So be sure to lock out the breaker if needed and shut off the gas supply. Most electronic ignition systems have a battery backup that will start the fireplace and radiate heat. Batteries should only be installed when the power is lost or they will corrode and be useless. The respective brand website usually have owners manuals and replacement parts breakouts for your review or download. Hope this helps. Crank up that fireplace and stay warm!
