Kenmore H5 Electric Dryer Does Not Work in Brazil

I purchased this dryer when living in USA. Last year I moved to Brazil and brough a 20ft container with what I had inside my house.

After arriving here, I tried to connect the dryer and it didn't work. The L2 code displays in the dryer panel. After doing some research I found that here, like in Europe, there is a 1 x 220v from the outlet, while in USA it was a 2 x 110v.

Not sure if that dryer needs 110v in any of its components.

Could you please provide options on how to proper wire it to my existing outlet?

Thank you,
Paulo.

SOURCE: Battery Charging Problem

The problem is not with the batteris, but with your charger, you have to make sure it can take 220V or you will burn it. Look for a switch on it to change from 110V to 220V.

Any known issues with the Kenmore Elite He4 Electric Dryer 11085089400?

Besides the thermal fuse, the thermistor, main control board, door locking system and the problems all over youtube and google, the dryer may last you about a year or so. That is if you only do laundry one a year. The HE4's are ****. Have both washer and dryer for about 5 years. I could now be a sears repair man with the amount of knowledge I had to digest while fixing these things. NEVER, NEVER again will I buy kenmore!

Dryer

What are your power requirements? I lived in Europe for a while and all the appliances ran on 220 VAC, 50hz. Most American appliances that use 220 VAC (like dryers and electric ranges) have 60hz timers, clocks and motors. Now...if the European standard is still true (I haven't been there in years), you can probably use your dryer, but the timing will not be accurate. Your timer will probably run slower than required.

Dryer blowing fuses

check the heating element to see if its shorted to ground. also check where the power cord connects to the dryer to see if there is a loose wire there either one could cause the breaker to trip
