I have a 2007 ford explorer that when i hit the brake hard to stop, my truck is like out of gear and then suddenly goes into gear jerking. this also happens just at a regular stop sometimes. what is...

Sounds to be low on trans fluid, I think 2007 has to be filled from underneath on lift, the trans has a small plug,(Torx head)that has to have fluid" pushed"up through until it pours back out,I would check to see if any wet spots around cooler lines(small hoses that go to radiator.

Is it necessaryt to drop the gas tank in a 2001 impala in order to repair tie rods?

  • Hi, I can help.
  • No, you don't need to drop the gas tank at all. The tie rods are what the rack pushes on when you steer the wheel. This is turn allows left and right turns. to get to the tie ros follow these instructions.
  1. You need to remove the wheel.
  2. Now remove the cotter pin from the bolt going through the middle ball joint bolt/nut (this is the tie rod ball joint.)
  3. Now zip the nut off the ball joint bolt.
  4. Now take a big mallet and hit the side of the spindle a couple times real real good to loosen that bolt up. If it does not pop up the you can screw the nut on that bolt a few times to give you a safe spot to tap it up. Please note failure to use the nut on the bolt before hitting it will ruin the threads.
  5. Now you have access to the outside tie rod. It should twist right off with the use of a couple wrenches.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

I have a garage door opener (Chamberlain Lift Master Professional 1/2 HP) all the sudden it stops durring clossing & opening The garage door. no paticular spot. just on a random spot at ramdom times,...

Somewhere on the power head( motor ) is 2 knobs. The are to adjust up and down force. As the opener gets a little old you will need to turn these up occasionally! Turn to the right a 1/4 of a turn and try. I that doesn't work turn it up a little bit more. This should get you fixed up!

Door comes down and goes right back up. then the lite blinks 4 times with a click noise. the safety eyes also are not on

It sounds like you need to adjust your down limit switch and/or perhaps your motor force settings. If the limit switch is not in the sweet spot along the rail it can be triggering too soon or not in time. In your case it could be too far down the rail and thus not stopping/slowing the motor in time. Your door is then being pushed against the floor too hard. Your safety/return force is goes way over limit and tells the opener to go back. While closing your door look at your rail and if its bending when the door hits the ground, this is definitely happening. After finding the sweet spot for your down limit switch, you can readjust your return/safety force per your opener manual.

Power window on 1990 Ford F150 stops working

the motor has an armature inside that rotates.if it stops on the bad spot,it will draw alot of current.the armature has copper plates with a very fine separation between them.after a while the brushes wear the copper down and it can bridge 2 together.the motor will still run, until one brush stops right where the 2 plates meet.if you bang on it it will work too sometimes.

Hi
I had the same problem and the solution is very simple:

Remove bottom plate by unscreewing the 7 screews (for one of them you must open the viewfinder) and make sure the ribbon cables are connected securely . You just need to push genty the ribbon cabbles and reposition the plate, this should solve the problem.

Try to jank it left-right and simultaneously try to force it back to threads (either pulling or pushing). Don't hit it with anything since this may damage the insides.
