Camera Error # e45

Many users have reported dampness to be the cause of this error to come up suddenly. What many have successfully done is the following:

hold the camera and bash the edge next to the lens against the palm of your hand as hard as you can, one you have done this a few times (if the error remains), you can apply a lot more force by banging it against a harder surface such as a thick carpet on a floor or a wooden bench. The idea is to not hit or **** it but to apply some force on the camera which is currently stuck and resulting in the error. The carpet, hand or wood will allow absorption of extra force without damaging your camera.

The other option is to take it to a service center.

When switching my camera on it just switches itself straight back off?

Hi there,

Make sure you have installed freshly charged batteries on your Kodak Camera. If you already have but problem still goes on, then try to do a little fix.

With your camera turned OFF, hold the camera on your right hand with the lens facing the ground. Then hit the camera's base on your left palm as you push the button to turn on the camera. You might have to do this a few times. What happens is that there could be a grit of sand that got stuck between your lens' barrel and the camera's base, preventing the lens to retract freely. If the above solution does not work, you might want to apply a bit of force by twist-pushing the lens inside with your index finger while trying to turn on the camera. The idea here is to remove that grit out of the camera.

Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

Lumix fx30 wont turn on after i drop it

The first thing I would check would be the battery compartment, the Lumixes have horrible battery connectivity but can usually withstand some pretty heavy drops. Open the battery compartment and wiggle the battery about when you are turning it on and push it in slightly see if that helps. One of my Lumixes has about 3mm of tape on the end of the battery to force it in more now :)

Lens error: canon sx110is

I had the same thing happen to me and didn't use my camera for about two months. One day I decided to gently hit the side of the lens and the side of the camera closest to the lens as well. I still can't believe it, but my lens suddenly popped open and has been working fine ever since. Before this nothing had worked, including the gentle hitting of the side of the lens I had done before. I think I hit, or I should say thumped, the side of the lens a bit more forcefully this time. If your desperate, you might want to give it a try but make sure you keep thumping hit for a while before you give up. I think it dislodged some small particle that had been blocking the lens from opening up.

Canon Powershot A610 won't power-up

My camera stopped working some time later after being dropped.
If you are brave (or desperate), try this... I found it was not too difficult to open the camera up. Take all the screws from the bottom, sides and under the card and usb, and inside the battery compartment. They are all different lengths so keep some record of what goes where. Then I made sure the multiway connector underneath the top was firmly in place. That was all I could see that I could fix myself. And what luck! when I put it back together it worked.

OMG! I can't believe this! The same thing happened to my Sony. I was crying because I'm about to go on a trip. I tried whacking it also from all sides. It didn't work at first, but then I left the power on while looking for new solutions. Next thing I know I looked over to the camera and "Voila" it worked! Thank you so much!
