This older model APC does not support USB and it is inlikely that even if you found a cable that would connect them that the electronics in this unit would play nice with USB. Might be time to consider an upgrade, although these are a great units they just do not have the compatibility with newer computers.

Computer restarts as soon as power goes off, its not an ups . When i manually turn off the power to the UPS, it switches / relay works fine, but if actually if there is a power outage the relay does not...

Your question is slightly confusing. Do you mean that the computer is not powered by a UPS? If the computer is not connected to the UPS, then why have a UPS? If the computer is not connected to the UPS and restarts when you turn the UPS On, your circuit feeding the UPS is overloaded and the voltage dips. If the computer is connected to the UPS, and restarts when there is a power outage, the fault may lie in the reaction of the HP 800. This unit looks to be a line interactive unit and it is not a true on-line UPS. The line interactive and battery backup (no voltage regulation) units both should have a switch to battery power time of 4 msecs, or less. If this unit is faulty and the switchover time is longer, it will not continue to hold up the computer internal power supply. If you are trying to run a laser printer on the HP unit, it won't have enough output capacity.

I need to know what the modular cable is that goes between the main unit and the batteries on a Matrix 5000. Is it simply a cross-over mini-RJ11 (handset connector) cable?

ccowl, APC has a great website. Have you tried it yet? The knowledge base they have on their products is huge. The cable you are speaking of may just be for monitoring battery voltage status, but that is only a guess. The interconnect cable could be a proprietary APC cable and only APC knows how it is wired "end to end" !!! 12fixlouie

The UPS machine periodical (every 20mins)gives three beeps. The event log in LANSafe shows "UPS Overload".

You may have too many devices connected to the UPS. Try disconnecting some of them. Typically you want your computer and monitor to be connected. You may want to have your internet modem connected also. Printers are a luxury and I would only include them if your UPS can handle it.
Hope this helps, good luck!

My 485VA back up system beeps after I have a few things plugged into it. Does the beeping mean the battery is bad?

Try only the computer and monitor - it may be overloaded, 485VA is around 400W only, so it won't accomodate much more than a standard computer + monitor.
Especially a laser printer is very power consuming and should not be connected to any UPS.

My 500-A Ups is making Buzzing sound.

APC 500VA ups meant for 1 Desktop and one montiro it will have battery backup for 10 to 15 minutes for the above.

Normally, You should make the raw power connected to UPS should be always ON.

The power cables of CPU and Monitor is connected with UPS. When not in use, please press the Button available on the UPS.

The UPS Life is normally 2 to 3 Years only. Now you are getting the sound and Red Light will always blink and not allow to use the system.

Better replace the 12 Vols battery to get some more life for the UPS.

And check for any loose connection of the power cables connected with Raw Power and UPS System.

My computer won't boot and the CyberPower 825 AVR makes a continuous sound.

It sounds as though the UPS is not receiving power. Check that it's cable is properly plugged into the wall. Also verify that it's internal ground fault interrupter has not tripped, it's usually a little red button on the back of the unit, it should be pressed in and should stay that way, if it pops out then there is a problem with the ground of your electrical outlet. Also check that the breaker for that electrical has not tripped at your fuse box.

Since the UPS is not receiving power the batteries have discharged and that is why your computer cannot start, there is not enough juice from the UPS to boot it. That is also why it is making a noise as most UPS's sound an alarm to indicate that they are not connected to power.

There is a chance that the batteries in your UPS have gone bad or that something has become faulty in your UPS. Try plugging your computer and monitor directly to the wall bypassing the UPS to see if they work fine.

Desk top APC UPS ES750 not communicating

Here is an answer I got from APC when one of my client got the same problem as you did:

The error message would pop up if the link between the computer and the UPS is weak. I cannot rule out a problem with the cable or the UPS. In order to confirm the same please try the following steps which might help :

1) Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2) If the PC was powered on before the UPS, communication will not be achieved until you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to the host. In this case, you need to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to establish communication.

3) Some other software is polling your USB port for another device, thus causing the UPS software to temporarily lose communication with your UPS. If this is the case, you would need to shut down that application.

4) If you have any other USB devices connected to the PC, disconnect them and then try plugging in the cable.

If the issue persists, please visit the following link which lists few troubleshooting steps :
