Question about Carrier Heating & Cooling

My aircon would suddenly switch on and off itself

My aircon would suddenly and occasionally switch on and off itself. When it is on, I also cannot switch it off with my remote control. Practically, there is no way to stop it unless I switch off the mains.

My remote does not operate the aircon.

Batteries ?! If you have a digital camera use it to look at the infra red bulb on the a/c remote whilst you are pressing buttons on the remote. Digital cameras pick up the i/r light and it will show up brightly on your camera screen. If there's no light then the batteries are duff , in the wrong way round, or have dirty contacts. If there IS light then check the a/c unit itself. The i/red receiver lens could be dirty on the a/c unit itself.

I have a split-type aircon (brand: LG) with remote control. It has power and display when i put on batteries. but the aircon unit does not respond to the remote control. what do i do to fix this?...

Lift the front cover of the air con, on the right hand side there is a button or a hole which has a button inside which you can press which is for manual starting of the air con. If this works, then you will know the remote is faulty, if it still doesn't work, check that the isolator switch for the air con hasn't been turned off. There will be 9Or should be) a switch outside next to the air con outdoor unit to switch power on / off to the air con. If not, there should be switch inside the meter box at the front of the house. Make sure they are switched on.

YKR-K/002E cant switch it off with remote?

Make sure the batteries in the remote are good. Reset the aircon and the remote and try again. If not working, need to be fixed.

There may be a switch around the outdoor unit of the aircond for switch off.

I had the aircon thermostat on cold then my friend just transfered it to warm without turning the aircon off because it was too cold. in the afternoon when i tried to use the aircon theremostat to...

Problem is the thermostat. The heat/cool selector switch might not be making try back and fourth from heat/cool to make a good contact. In heat mode make sure the temp is set LOWER than your cooling temp.If it is too cold in the future just RAISE the cooling temp up and not the heat/cool switch.

TCL air conditioner works for about 15 minutes, switches off and gives a signal of 4 red flashes every now and then.

It's due to abnormality of out door unit. Clean condenser coil first. Check run amps. If gradually increases, replace running capacitor. Check rpm of f.motor. If slow, replace fan capacitor. If still problem, replace fan motor. Service indoor unit also. Thanks.
