If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen
Need more information but normally you would hook up the infrared device or usb device to the laptop. Then you would make sure that the keyboard and mouse has new batteries in it. At that point windows should recognize the mouse and keyboard. You may have to push on the connect buttons on the keyboad or mouse to get the laptop to recognize them.
Other then that its not really hard. Just time consuming if it doesn't take right away. Most of the time you don't need software installed unless the manual tells you to install them because windows will recognize them.
Hi, normally acer uses 'F12' key to select boot device. Switch on your laptop, make your Hard Disk to be the first boot, your DVDrw to be the 2nd one etc... However, if you do not see your Hard disk, you should switch off laptop & power it on again by holding 'F2' this time. See if your Hard Disk etc are listed. If you don't see your HDD, therefore there may be a problem with your Hard Disk & may need replacement...(I hope not) Well send us your vote & feedback to help us help you!
If there is no display on the monitor, then your computer is not sending a video signal to the monitor. This could be caused by a bad video card or some other hardware problem. I would open the case and disconnect all the devices (hard drive, CD, etc. Leave only the CPU, memory, and video connected. You could leave the keyboard and mouse connected too. If your computer then starts, you can start to add devices (after turning the computer off) one at a time. If this doesn't work, then you are looking at replacing the motherboard or just the video card if that is possible.
The Acer service centre have probably not connected the keyboard and touchpad to the motherboard. Common mistake by Acer. It is best to send it back to Acer to have it fixed under warranty as if you try it yourself, the laptop could be rendered out of warranty. Good luck... :)
If Windows service pack 1 - doesnot all recent drivers and will not recognize your touch pad and even keyboard. Try to boot on Safemode. Just press on F8 when your start your computer - and connect an usb mouse and try to install the touch pad drive manually. Then boot on normal mode and install your other drivers.. It is recommended to update quickly your os to Service pack 2 or 3 for best performance of your computer.
